Negotiating Rights Away

Don't worry, I'm far more radical than the NRA.

My balance is any equipment allowed by police or government protection services should be available for sale to everyone.

So if police get fully automatic weapons for "special circumstances" then everyone else does as well. If secret service has 50 cal anti-material rifles with depleted uranium bullets meant to stop vbieds then so does everyone else.

If police are aren't allowed to use 40mm thermobaric or napalm throwers then civilians aren't either.

No. Private ownership of literally any and all arms without restriction. Anything less is unacceptable and un-American.

As an aside: I was having a discussion with coworkers this week and we basically came to the conclusion that the purpose of the Second Amendment is to ensure that civilians are capable of hunting their government.

Not just capable, but damn near obligated to when it becomes necessary.
