That was my prediction at the start of the war as well. Western nations were going to all jump on the Ukraine bandwagon to distract from economic problems, immigration-related issues, the pandemic, societal unrest and more. No one actually cares to do anything about these because no one in power actually cares about the future of their own country.
Ireland, a little nation with no power, is even sending billions to Ukraine, and taking in an endless stream of them, which will likely collapse the whole state eventually. We're honestly not too far away from the whole country turning into a 3rd world shithole.
