The Sims is a game where you can choose everything about your characters, right? I've never played it, but isn't it just a life simulator thing?
Why would anyone be trans in what is effectively an entirely utopian idea? You'd just make them the gender you want them to be, right? You can make them look as feminine as possible, so they actually are women.
This topic comes up in c/Gaming quite a bit. Especially with scifi games. Trans people don't want to play as the opposite sex. They get a kick out of playing some hideous trans-beast that clearly doesn't "pass", but where everyone else in the world pretends that they do. They want to control a woman with a man's voice, and force the game to use female or "they/them" pronouns.
Yep, you have it correct. If some troon wants to make a Sim that's their ideal self as the opposite sex they're totally free to do so. Hell, if they wanted to (I'm speaking for 3 here because I've never played 4) they can make a Sim just like them as their real sex then change change the sex to the opposite sex version of that Sim.
Why would anyone be trans in what is effectively an entirely utopian idea?
Because there's no way to be special and get free attention and goodies if they're actually the opposite sex. They also can't push groom children into mutilating themselves and advocate degenerate sexual behavior.
Very true. It's also true that MtF troons are getting the better of real women in the Oppression Olympics and that obviously has its upsides. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if we gained the ability to make men into real women (XX chromosomes, female reproductive parts, the whole 9 yards) they would probably be against it because there's value in being a troon. They're out to push degeneracy. Pushing sex with real women is "problematic". Pushing sex with a man in a dress who has a degenerate fetish is a progressive way to fight the "patriarchy".
"trans" is its own special snowflake designation according to the left. "Trans women are women" is merely a mantra they repeat, but they hold trans people to a special standard compared to everyone else. They know, deep down, that trans people are not their claimed sex, but their mental gymnastics prevents them from saying this out loud.
A friend of mine went trans a while back. It's been a few years, and he still cannot stop talking about how trans he is. He sneaks baby blue and pink into as much art as he can, and seems to be doing everything he can to remind himself that he is trans and not a woman. He asks us to use female pronouns, but it is obvious that he sees him self as "trans", not "woman"
Said it before and I'll say it again. Most trans don't want to transition. They want the middle ground so they can fall back on safety of being female and claim the supposed "power" of men.
This has caused the midpoint of transition to become the goal, instead of the opposite gender. So in their eyes, no representing someone who stopped half way is ist.
Hang on, hang on, hang on.

Like everything else wrong with society, it's a humiliation ritual targeting everyone in line of sight.
We need to do more for the rights of trans-dinosaurs!
This injustice can't stand!

Literally Hitler probably could.
He put off marrying his mistress so as not piss off his female fans.
No wonder the allies feared him, no man should have such power. Imagine if he had two testicles.

Easy; musicians/singers, actors, and "entertainers".
You'll notice these are all people who sell themselves for money already so it's not that much of a jump to something like selling Bath water.
Any guy from a popular K-Pop group in the East.
Any guy from a popular boy band in the West.
Robbie Williams, a former boy band member.
Ronan Keeting, also a former buy band member, despite the fact he cheated on his wife or possibly because of it as it means the others have a chance.
Jason Mamoa.
Robert Pattinson during his Twilight days.
Oded Fehr.
Brad Pitt at the turn of the millennium.
Leonardo DiCaprio also at the turn of the millennium, when he was in Romeo and Juliet.
It's not going to be a short list but it's also not going to be a list of poor men who need the money in the first place either.
That is the question I started asking why they started adding “they/them” in character customization in other games
