Considering how woke is going to be, I'm all for them unionizing, demanding better pay and then have the game crash and burn.

Well, anyone with marketable Skills has left Bioware ages ago. Of course those remaining need a Union to have any leverage.

It seems like he was talking about communist union corruption, who's goal was to advance communist ideology.
The modern issue with unions is regressive leftist union corruption, which has similar goals to classical communist unions.
Criminal and extremist corruption in unions is a major longstanding issue that must be dealt with via union regulation.
His point still stands that your right as a worker to dictate the value of your labour is removed in a union. You're not allowed to do the same job for slightly less money in order to incentivize being hired. You're not allowed to argue that you should get far more because you put in more effort. This leads the same situation as we see with government mandated minimum wages where any drive to outperform is disincentivized.
I do think two tiered minimum wage for small businesses vs major corporations is a good idea.
There is nobody more disposable and more readily replaceable than the 'come play our game and get paid to do it!' crowd.

It’s not that easy, you can’t just fire people for wanting to unionize… but you can monitor their day to day activity more closely and write them up for enough minor offenses to let them go.
I wonder if there is an ideology/political movement that is great at taking offense at various things. Can anyone imagine such a thing?
