I gotta say, the last couple years have really decimated my interest in a lot of these people and their projects.
I used to be so much more into things like Star Wars, James Bond, Batman, etc.
Now I practically don't go to the movies anymore. Dune (and that new Jackass movie I got dragged to) was the only movie I actually went to see in theaters for the last few years.
Director of Dune is signed on for Rendezvous with Rama.
Hope it gets made and is good, was a favorite book.
There's a movie that's been in development hell since forever. Had it on my IMDB watchlist for about a decade now.
Covid lunacy really finished off a lot of such things for me. Movies and TV were already on their last leg anyway. I used to go watch movies and buy movies all the time not even 10 years ago. Now, well I might collect a blu-ray of an old classic from time to time and usually not purchased new. To me they died off because the content sucked before I even attached it to wokeness.
Avengers: Endgame was the last western movie I saw in theaters. The only other thing I've seen in theaters since then was Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel part 3, as I have no grudge with Japanese stuff
this. saw endgame, the silver screen is dead.
for most movies, i wait til others see them and most people that have even partially trustable opinions are just complaining that 90% of movies are shit. i'm just not interested in paying for someone to lecture me with mental gymnastics about how i'm supposedly racist/sexist and not admitting it makes me double nazi.
and today, a disney exec just said that in response to florida's anti-pedophilia law, they're going to be ramping up the LGBT storylines in all of their properties, especially children's movies. disney properties were already on their last leg. these companies can die in a fire.
shit, i think endgame was the last one i went to as well.
The last movie I saw in theaters I think was the first Hobbit movie. Now I just wait until the home release and watch it on whatever service I want.
