I don't get where this comes from but, like you said, it is the uniform.
My best guess is they saw an effeminate Justin Bieber in similar get-up and thought "that's what a man should look like"
It's similar to men who pretend to women but end up just being a caricature of women.
It's like "default guy" look. At a glance and you'll just think it's a short fair-faced dude. What I don't get about FtM is they're actually downgrading their place in society. By default, men are treated with indifference. IDK how a female brain that lived their whole lives as wen adjust to this radical shift. My guess is they just hate themselves and are clinically depressed.

Yeah, I don't think that either sex knows what it's like to be the other. You just look at what's better for the other side, ignoring the bad stuff.

Same reason they often have a beard and take closely cropped photographs of their faces - because they believe they can create the false impression of being male. Showing your shoulders or hip size would not work in your favor.
The baggy clothes are probably so they don't have to bind their breasts so tightly.
Imo most women love wearing baggy, flowy clothing anyway, so a female to male trans will default to that.
