I don’t think this will get the LOTR-HALO-Star Wars Treatment. FromSoftware don’t strike me as the kind of people to just rollover and let people do what they may with their properties. They’re a Japanese company, those guys never change their stuff to fit the political sentimentalities of the US. Can’t remember what company it was, but some new executive at a manga/anime company suggested that and he had to publicly apologize for the shitstorm he caused. He also gave back something like 20% of his salary. Most likely scenario would be them having direct over site with the filming and shopping it around afterwards. Wouldn’t be surprised it they went with an anime approach either.
If he means making something like a Berserk anime or manga I could maaaybe see it work.
Dark souls story has always been rooted in its lore: item descriptions, boss design, level design, filler enemies in the zone - these things coalesce into giving you hints at something, but never outright saying it. Perfect example of showing and not telling. Which would translate awfully into a TV show.
Better put on some lipstick and the sluttiest dress it can find, because it's about to make its hollywood debut. Prey it doesn't meet the Oprah or Weinstein of the gaming-to-movie industry.
These things never work even without the woke world. The only sort of ok ones I can think of are Japanese games connecting to anime and manga. Even then, it's usually the ones that are a hell of a lot closer to that type of media like a Dragon Quest type game. Not From Software games. How about just keeping making games? Not everything has to be a brand or a franchise.
Spoilers, obviously. Can go into ng+, have all trophy bosses beaten, and I actually pay attention to lore.
I don't recall any overt feminist stuff unless you count women fighting in general, or being boss fights, as feminist. And they have the excuse of being demigods or the descendants of such, magic users, or the occasional forgettable npc. Only one of them, a demigod, gets talked up as being an exceptionally powerful fighter and she cheats with health steal, rot build up and a second phase. And she's a filthy dex user anyway. The black knife assassin's were also supposedly all women. The game doesn't really push the women are better nonsense though, and they're often directly responsible for a lot of the problems the world is dealing with.
Race doesn't get mentioned outside of the in universe stuff popping up from time to time in item descriptions and I don't recall an african equivalent. The only real world equivalents were japanese or nordic, iirc. There might be a middle east based on some of the curved swords. Having checked the character creator, it's variations of white, an asian and two shades of grey.
The closest thing to a tranny was god-queen Marika, who is also the male Radagon. But they're effectively seperate people sharing a body, and they're acting in opposition to each other. Final boss fight cutscene starts with seeing Marika crucified and she's very obviously a woman. Tits and all. Then she turns into Radagon and he's a very brawny male who doesn't look anything like her beyond having the same haircut. And you only fight Radagon. They're both more or less dead at the end anyway in two out of three endings.
Almost forgot to mention the gay incestuous pedophiliac blood god. He's not treated as a good guy.
I think we have different standards on it then. From doesn't push the woke shit and I give them a pass when their twelve foot goddess of rot with a prosthetic katana arm kicks my ass a few times.
Right? I love Elden Ring and Dark Souls but Bloodborne was such a good game. I wish they would release it on PC though, might have a longer shelve life.
NO NO N O NO .video
theyre going to amazon the elden ring, arent they.
Christ, the Witcher on Netflix was hard enough to follow. Imagine one based in Elden Ring?

How about no?
It won't map well onto TV, books as a successful concept would be right out given GRRM's involvement... Manga? Anime? Not really ideal mediums.

I welcome the new Elden Ring theme park where you wander a large field while high on acid.
Every ride ends the same way.
Y O U D I E D
Which is why you end where you began. Brilliant!

Isn't there even a Pen and Paper in the works, too? I can see it work if done right.

Its not. There is barely even a story unless you go looking for it. And what little you do find is still very cryptic (as usual for a FromSoft game).
Its all about the gameplay. The game will not hold your hand, and if it does its so they can crush you into a pulp.

Not that I'm loving elden ring but I'd rather have more Bloodborne
