One of the trends I’ve noticed from the stories around the 22 Winter Olympics is these two, Chinese “Americans” who openly renounced their US citizenship to compete for China in the Winter Olympics. “Zhu Yi” was born Beverly Zhu and changed her name to be more Chinese. Both were born and raised in raised in California and both threw away their citizenship when it became profitable. This is a prime example of modern “America”. People with no allegiance to the country and who will only act in self interest, even changing allegiance to a country that would have aborted them for being women. American means nothing anymore, there are no longer shared values, culture, or beliefs, and it was all by design.

Do you know anything about Gu..?? Have you heard her speak..??!
Because she’s the most damn American “Chinese” I’ve ever seen…
Much like Naomi Osaka, she barely even speaks Mandarin…
She’s a whore, certainly, but she’s far more American than she is “Chinese”, lol…
...and yet, she abandons America and adheres to her bloodline, because she's Chinese and not American.
No, because she's a washout who wouldn't have made the cut for Team USA.
Even the 50 cent army can see that, and they're furious (and rightly so; Team China had better domestic talent that they passed over gambling on a scrub defector).
This is not a new phenomena in the Olympics by any measure, it happens all the time. B-tier athletes deliberately try to get multiple citizenships to give themselves more shots at competition. It's fairly normal in hockey, basketball, baseball, and football competitions for players who play on the same pro team to play against each other under different flags.
Half. She’s half. What Hawaiians call “hapa”.
Honestly, when she’s on the cover of fucking Vogue, she barely looks Chinese at all… 🤷🏻♂️
Half white half X can often be the most aggressively racialized, overcompensation for not fitting in completely in either camp. (Have some experience with this being half Hispanic.)
