The left doesn't give a fuck about a healthy birthrate, nor do measures like this help (as seen in other countries that have mandated them). The actual problem underlying low birthrates is feminism, which pushes women away from motherhood.
I think 14 weeks is a little excessive. 14 weeks away from work is really going to equate to like 16 weeks when it takes you 2 weeks to just get caught up to any changes in procedure and getting back into the swing of things at work.

Our birth rates are substantially lower than the US, and our legal immigration rate WAS much higher. And we’ve had “paid parental leave” for literally decades…

The only way our society survives past 2100 is if the entire current…Way of doing things is torn down, and women go back to raising children. Not necessarily wanting to raise children, but being willing or obligated to, as in the past. Otherwise… The past few centuries of social “progress”, and perhaps beyond, will be extinguished by our own exceptionally selfish ignorance of our biological needs as a species…
