I don't disagree, but keep in mind Afghanistan's population nearly doubled since the US-led invasion, and there's no way the country can support that many people with foreign aid gone. Those Afghans are going to be your and mine new neighbors soon. Millions of them.

Also in 2001 a lot of American air missions was actually delivery of MRE airdrops for the population. Including some incidents of people killed when it fell on them.
