To be fair academia is a cult as well, and it's probably the same cult. This is also a bit unfair to Christianity. The whole always a sinner thing is to humble everyone. It's an equalizer, even if it didn't always work out that way in practice. The race baiting shit we're seeing now is distinctly about setting up a hierarchy instead of mitigating against one. Not just the progressive stack we talk about, but a hierarchy within groups. It's mostly white people pushing this shit in a bid to become high priests of the Church of Woke. They'll pay lip service to blacks being higher on the pecking order, but they'll never admit to any of these sins. No, it's just a cudgel to beat other whites with, particularly working class whites. Does anyone really think that Karen from HR is going to step down and give her position to some oppressed queer Muslim woman of color?
Exactly... religion is devolving
The Universities were places where it was expected for people to actually decipher some aspects of religious doctrine. There was always a tie between religion and Universities.
That's what Professors are Professing. That's why people got educated in Seminaries.
I think religion already devolved. What we are witnessing is Universities devolving into pre-Enlightenment religion.
Sure, it's pointing out that woke is a religion as much as Christianity or anything else. I wasn't so much accusing them of slighting Christianity as I was pointing out that while they're both religions Christianity has at least one redeeming feature that woke doesn't. It's a good analogy that we can appreciate without falling into the trap I used to, which is saying it's all religion and it all sucks.
