The only thing I can think of is that the little hamster wheel he has for a brain spun up at the thought of more white people getting into college than other races, so therefore it has to be the white man's fault.
My guess, his thought process was: white people are stealing applications from black people by pretending to be non-white.
I know it is stilly but there are a lot of students that think that quotas are both moral and the norm. They do not see it as discrimination based on race.
In this mind set he was not doing anything wrong, he was just pointing out how evil white people are.
Did not cross his mind that it also means that whites have no privilege for being white and in fact they are systematically discriminated against, hence systematic racism exists against whites.
I always put Hispanic on any application form on the off-chance that it has an effect. (they claim that it doesn't for jobs and is just for EEO reporting, but who knows)
A while back I wanted to move from my company and I was not getting to many job opportunities until I put gender: will not disclose - or something like that. I had a ton of interviews after that.
They had this guy speak to my entire company in a virtual meeting. I’m thinking about becoming a they/them so I can get promoted. Being a white guy is holding me back big time.
There is something about identifying as they/them that makes me sick to my stomach.
Saying your latino or native american seems a much easier path. If Elizabeth Warren can be an Indian then I do not understand why I should not be able to.
