Cuties was the last straw for me with Netflix. When I cancelled I mentioned how they couldn’t shut up about race narratives.

What makes no sense is that as someone who go grew up in 80s/90s I remember shows like Cosby Show, Family Matters, and Fresh Prince that everyone enjoyed. Just like you said now a show with a largely black cast will be sjw nonsense.

I grew up in the 90s too. Loved Fresh Prince and Family Matters. Carlton, his dad, and Will Smith were amazing characters.

I can’t watch anything with black people in it now because it will inevitably be preachy. The “minority” has to either be perfect, or a victim. What about a flawed human you can actually relate to? Only the rare good shows, usually with an all or mostly white cast, still do it.

The last thing I saw with black people in it that had any real depth was Firefly. I gave up and don’t watch TV anymore though.

Not even old stuff? What are you reading?

Sometimes I'll watch something old out of nostalgia, but it reminds me of how little good content there is now so it's a double edged sword. I haven't done it in a while.

I'm actually more into reality than fantasy atm. Maybe because I'm older, or maybe because reality is so surreal, who knows? The only fantasy thing I'm reading right now is Dune, since I was always curious about its popularity and they made that new movie about it. It's a weird story written by a somewhat degenerate lefty who seems to pine for a lost age where men were tougher. At least that is my impression by book 4, but I can see why people like it. It is thought provoking, and would be more so if I were younger and not a Christian already who has awareness of how weak our society is.

Nowadays I like to watch JLP for entertainment. He's the funniest guy I've ever seen, and it seems to be effortless to him. Outside of that, I'm doing productive things instead, like reading about nutrition and studying programming. I'm beginning to understand that men should be learning and building things. Our society is focused on sensations, base pleasure seeking and status. It might sound strange, but I think it's an intentional trap to keep young men hopeless and distracted in order to enrich older men who already occupy positions of power. They don't want us to notice that we can compete and even destroy the existing systems, or that they are erecting as many legal barriers as possible to slow us down. Anything to try and keep that cycle of destruction and renewal at bay.

I cycle between fiction and non fiction books. I actually finished Dune back in July. Then read some Thomas Sowell and now I’m reading the LOTR trilogy. When Covid started I got more serious about nutrition because I feel we will all get it and the best thing I can do is have a healthy immune system.

You know, I never drew a hard line over any of the streaming platforms -- but I did naturally drift away from Netflix probably over the past 2 years. Yes, their politics suck. But so does their entire platform lmao their content has become garbage and the actual app itself blows. Who was the fucking brainiac that decided "let's make every title auto play a preview that you can't turn off without visiting the website" and also made it so that it's pretty much impossible to only view selections that are in your spoken language.

But God there sure is a lot of the trash you're mentioning also. It doesn't even offend me though honestly- it's so transparent that I can't help but laugh at this point.

Must be the same blue-hair who made YouTube's app.

Psychology research shows that all social groups tend to become more extreme over time.

Then there are factors working against this natural impulse. In 80s/90s TV there was a limited marketplace; you've got like three stations and as much as the people running them wanted to put on more extreme content their reality was they had to get views and bring in the money. Also red lines like "Cuties" where as the group gets more extreme it loses some members and gets smaller.

So today you have fewer forces pulling people to the cohesive center. You can run a streaming service only for SJWs or Furries or Anime and not go out of business. Or reddit where the hive-mind gets the top spot and the 49% views are hidden at the bottom or censored.

...doesn't bode well unless we can figure out how to add back in some commonality.

Psychology research shows that all social groups tend to become more extreme over time.

Which is why diversity doesn't work unless you have some some kind of strong uniting civil society forced on everyone from childhood, or one group is is culturally dominant - supreme, if you will.

The basis of the modern world-order is the nation-state, a single people with a core ethos united in a single political entity. Due to convenience, the majority of these nation-states are ethno-states; people do not move away from the land of their birth without an impetus. They have disagreements over the best method to reach their common goal, and these disagreements are peaceful and do not disrupt the cohesion of the nation.

The basis of the post-modern world order, by contrast, is the destruction of the nation-state by fracturing the nation to empower the State. Foreigners are imported and natives are separated from the old ethos to further disunity. They are two or more peoples occupying the same physical space and vying for control of the same political system, not to implement their policies to achieve common goals, but to achieve mutually-exclusive goals.

Of course, this post-modern world order is a recipe for conflict. Every history of every people who ever lived in a state that was not a nation-state (or city-state, where the city was a subset of the nation) contains a horrific, bloody chapter where the peoples in that state fought over power and against the neighbor-turned-enemy. Southeastern Europe, where the scions of Islamic invaders settled, Africa and the post-Ottoman Near East, contemporary China, and in every place where tribes of early man settled, vicious conflicts erupted over the control of resources.

The post-modern world order will collapse in a fountain of blood that will leave Rwanda, Bosnia, and Syria footnotes in a chapter of history that will, if we are fortunate, be written and retold so that future generations do not make the same mistake our ancestors have, unless by some miracle we can forestall this fate and reverse the forming of the abyss that has separated the nations from themselves.
