We're not going to terraform Mars. Even if we had the capacity, it would be far easier to just terraform Earth to get what you want - an average temperature 1-2 degrees higher than you like is far easier to deal with than zero magnetosphere, near zero atmosphere, near zero solar irradiance, zero carbon cycle....
Earth is already terraformed. The point of terraforming is to make other planets habitable like Earth, so I'm lost as to what you're saying.
With that said, scientists are working on all those problems you mentioned and already have ways to deal with it. Yes, ti will take a long time, around 1000 years, but humanity will be around for a long time. It's inevitable that humans will live on Mars --- and it will be like Earth.
