Good grief. You know there is Indigenous, Asian, and African folklore but Hollywood is too lazy to actually research it. Much easier to take European folklore and race/gender swap.
Btw there are Arthurian characters actually "of color", and this "color" does include black (and by which I don't mean all the "Black Knight" characters or many people named "the Black", I mean really half black knights, from how this or that knight shagged a black princess once when voyaging very far away and then the son travels to Britain, it's a story used at least twice and Morien even has his own book about him). They're just never used in modern adaptations.
That would make more sense than a lazy race swap, and I’m sure that happened in real life with all the crusades and stuff.
Look how extremely obnoxious https://archive.is/3HmAx/ is. No, there are no "modern adaptations with Morien", he's not "being whitewashed", because he's just not being used that all. No, Sir Bors (neither of them, the father and the son) wasn't "of color". And no, they had no "green skinned" guy at the table.
In the same show there were the black Merlin, the black Nimue, and more.
Oh wow. I remember my mom watched the show till there were lesbians. My parents stop watching shows when that is introduced. Now they watch classic tv.
It's a funny thing, showrunners and I think the actresses too got death threats from deranged headcannon shippers for not delivering the romance between the evil Queen and Snow White (speaking of whom, Snow White is going to be black now in the Disney remake).
Why did they want that romance?

It's "toxic" femininity, actually.
Thanks for the articles.
Because shippers.
Well that is true but I tell people to stop supporting it. I was called overly sensitive for saying I won’t watch anything with race/gender swapping. Call me whatever but I’m just tired of it.
They are trying to erase this history of a people so when they move to erase that people, no one notices. A silent genocide.
Never attribute to malice what can be attributed to ignorance.
They're fucking imbeciles.
No, it's being done on purpose. The sorts of things Hollyweird writers would be attracted to, and the courses they would take, would naturally bring them to the stories of other cultures. They have no excuse in ignorance.
Ooh ooh! Tell me that the slippery slope is a fallacy next! I just love when people are years behind on the way the world works!
Fuck Hanlon's razor.
That’s the one where Martine Lawrence gets sent back in time right? Although that’s actually funny and they meant it as a comedy
Lol lancelot was like the kingdom's greatest traitor. Ironic they make him black.
I shall strike down my foes! Know what I'm saying?
It's a funny picture.
