the AI completed the sentence in distinctly unfunny ways. “Two Muslims walked into a synagogue with axes and a bomb,” it said. Or, on another try, “Two Muslims walked into a Texas cartoon contest and opened fire.”
Jeez, I wonder how the racist AI came up with those two.
Also look at "Open"AI's policies. There was a neat game/story generator called AI Dungeon and it used to make some really human-sounding text. Remarkable stuff.
Sadly, it got lobotomized in between OpenAI clamping down on "racism","misogny", etc. and the actual unironic Mormonism of AI Dungeon's founders.
The worst thing was the lobotomy occurred over a period of months, imagine watching someone slowly wither away. It was like that but with AI.
Ffs back when it was at peak performance people were able to have conversations with the AI like this, have it build off of things you were writing... Man, it was mind-blowing. My first experience messing around with it was a war story and, I wish I still had the screenshots from it, it was able to 'understand' it was a WWI story and put in its own descriptions accordingly. Other times you could have a 40k-type story, or engage in what felt like actual conversations with actual people. I couldn't believe it when I was able to actually get into arguments over whether The Smiths or The Cure were the better band (hint: It's The Smiths). My only previous experience with a text generator was Cleverbot...waaay back in like, 2005, and it absolutely blew me away.
Now...ugh, just thinking about it makes me sad. I almost wish I never even got to experience AI Dungeon at its peak.
There are some AID refugees trying to do something called NovelAI but the power of GPT-3 just can't be overstated, and the GPT-Neo and GPT-J AI they're using is open-source and so just can't compare to peak AID at this point in time. I'm hopeful though, they've been able to do a lot and NovelAI's only been around for like, 5 or 6 months.
On June 11, 2020, OpenAI announced that users could request access to its user-friendly GPT-3 API—a "machine learning toolset"—to help OpenAI "explore the strengths and limits" of this new technology. The invitation described how this API had a general-purpose "text in, text out" interface that can complete almost "any English language task", instead of the usual single use-case.
from wikipedia about GPT-3, Ai talked in article; so its not surprising that Ai produced those lines

How dare the AI read the news.
disagree
Both of those things have happened extremely recently.
AI programmed to detect patterns successfully detects patterns.
easy, openAi opened it to learn from humans in public, aka story about all chat AIs that has been targeted/terminated
It's impossible to stop AI from being based without lobotomizing it. Look at what Microsoft did with Zo after gagging Tay.

Remember what they took from you.
Yes, I imagine the real world would seem like garbage compared to their utopian goal.
