I judge multiplayer communities almost entirely on their reported level of toxicity.
If people are constantly complaining about the shitty toxic community, I know it's a place that knows how to party like it's 1999. Because I remember how we partied in 1999.
If people are praising the lovely community, I know it's a sanitized corporate grayspace where everyone is filtering themselves and there are no genuine interactions between players and nobody genuinely expresses their joys or their frustration whether they win or lose.
That was the greatest part of classic WoW, it was like time travelling back in time.
Everyone was an unapologetic racist and those who weren't quit or left the good guilds, because as it turns out if you are a flaming faggot you're probably shit at the game and it takes you 3 months to kill C'Thun.
It was a good year to remind me of what we have lost to communism.
Free speech 1st.
Why /pol has good discussion sometimes.... if you're willing to wade through all the spam and nonsense.
Funny, a game about regimented team based murder and people are worried about bad words.
I would agree completely, but what really got me is just how genuinely good the FF14 community is despite the fact that it's censored. My assumption is that this is the case because the game is designed to make the players happy.
I was an asshole in other games but FFXIV made me full of positivity and it's so weird.
I think it's not because of censorship, though, I think it's because the game systems encourage positive interaction and give very few reasons to have negative interaction. Combined with the fact that it's made by the Japanese, so they don't censor based on political lines - you literally just can't talk about politics in public channels AT ALL. Any politics. You also can't be an asshole. I'm surprised it actually works...
I've tried FFXIV several times (friends keep trying to drag me into it) but I just can't get into it. No world PVP, no real rivalry between guilds, no rolling up with your homies to gangrap a rival guild trying to harvest materials, no staking out an area until they're forced to bitch out and retreat and shouting GET FUCKED FAGGOTS across the region. No highs, no lows, just steady stream of 'yeah, good job'.
So... no garbage that pretty much nobody wants judging by the complete lack of it happening when there's no rewards for it (like phase 2)? Yeah, it's been a breath of fresh air, lmao.
I like some stakes in my games. I consider it cucked enough that WoW doesn't let you loot dead players.
When you remove meaningful loss from an MMO you turn just turn it into a mindless grind to endgame drip-feeding the player with constant reward.
Even Runescape understood this.
That's why nobody except a few boomers cares about Runescape, lol. That's not stakes, that's an absolute waste of time and just pure ragebait that pretty much everyone will quit except a few people.
Good.
Gatekeeping is good.
It's good for the community, but nobody is going to run servers for you and a few of your buddies to... gank each other? After you've driven away everyone else.
Dunno about anyone else, but I clicked "add to cart"
Yankees seething sustains me.
Nice
I knew I remembered this game from somewhere.
Cannot confirm. Am confederate infantry who charges while howling nigger over and over.
The famous "rebel yell".
It's on sale now too. Unfortunately just bought a bunch of EUIV DLC, so wishlist it is
I dunno. I'd say FDR was the worst. But, Lincoln was undeniably responsible for breaking a lot of aspects of the US in an effort to keep the country together.
Post Revolutionary War US history is interesting, anything you can suggest book wise?
Lincoln would have redeemed himself by repatriating the freed slaves had he lived.

Seen a letsplayer i like play this game with some friends and it was fucking sad. the people playing as the union were clearly there for the virtue signal, running around like retards and shooting immediately upon reloading, but the confederate players actually played well, firing in volleys rather than piecemeal, using legitimate strategy, rather than treating it like Doom with muskets.
The devs responded to that review and sucked the reviewer's diseased micropenis. They promised global mute and server policing tools in an upcoming update. Don't give these cucks any of your hard-earned money.
They didn't yell it while charging because it was so common. It's like yelling "Yoooooou!!!"
How much longer will we let this woke disease spread?
I have this game on my wish-list but I'm waiting for it to come out of early access and play some of my backlog before I purchase it.
I've barely touched U-Boat , Hell Let Loose and some other early access games so far.
Considering blacks fought for the confederacy, I doubt very many N-words were had.
So some idiot is bitching about some /pol/acks screwing around while playing confederates?
