Unpopular opinion but men should have zero say on the abortion debate. I first got pregnant at 38 and I am a staunch antinatalist. Being pregnant was horrendous and I only had to endure for 6 weeks, 5 days. I don't wish pregnancy on my worst enemy.
The main response I have to the "men should have no say" is if that's the case then men should also be able to abort any responsibility for the child during the same period. No questions asked and no loopholes. Fill out a form and file it somewhere that the man aborts the kid and it no longer exists to them in any way.
I think any sort of abortion is a super scummy way to deal with it, but if we're going to talk down the road of men should have zero say then it has to be two sided.
Yeah, surprisingly, I think i agree with you, there...
Especially having had a girlfriend, when I was quite young, who insisted that if, by chance, she got pregnant, she would be carrying the child to term, and I would be equally responsible for it, for life...
I've had those conversations. I now know better, and have pretty much come to the same conclusion as what you outlined, there...
But I also think the "Don't have kids, the world is fucked/dying" argument is fundamentally, uhh, insane, so... There's that, too.
While I think abortion is scummy and wrong, I'm also not of the stance that government should only be built around my beliefs. I'd accept a compromise that included abortion to be allowed early term, which is what the Texas law is, it's not a ban. Compromise is give and take, if I'm to give them a few weeks of abortion, I need something in return. Granted the bad part is the abortionists are in a position of strength in that in most places it's already allowed, so there's that to deal with too.
Not that a compromise has ever been offered. I don't really trust that to end the discussion either. They'd take the compromise then still want the rest.
Completely agree. Onus falls on women. As long as there's a safe, affordable means to get an abortion then the man should absolutely have the option to abort all responsibility.
Not that I've used that argument a ton, but I have before. This is the first positive response I've seen from an abortionist. The typical response is something starting with "You men..." and ending with something feminist or about men taking responsibility.
I find that difficult to believe due to how self-evident it seems but if that's your experience...
After my abortion I immediately had both tubes entirely removed. Wish I'd done that when I first started fucking at 19. Battling my fertility all these years has been a bizz-snatch 😊
The eagerness of breeders to sacrifice their children to this fuckshow we call life/existence is the best demonstration of their vicious enslavement to the optimism bias.
Enjoy your lonely and bitter end of life as it is our relationships that define our humanity. Childlessness and birth control, such as silphium, is the mark of a civilization that has lost its animating spirit and embraced raw hedonism that ultimately leaves people empty inside and collapses society. It happened in Baghdad, Rome, and Greece.
In our own time the whole of Greece has been subjected to a low birth rate and a general decrease of the population, owing to which cities have become deserted and the land has ceased to yield fruit, although there has been neither continuous wars or epidemics... For as men had fallen into such a state of prententiousness, avarice, and indolence that they did not wish to marry, or if they married to rear the children born to them, or at most as a rule but one or two of them, so as to leave these in affluence and bring them up to waste their substance, the evil rapidly and insensibly grew.
I'd say this person's beliefs are even more responsible for those things than the average Western woman, by the sounds of it...
So you're even more on the money than usual, here.
I literally can't even come at this person's perspective, it's so alien to my own, so... I'm looking forward to seeing more people call her out on her shit, to be honest!
If men had a birth control option like the pill, I for one would be okay handing abortion over. If you want to control what happens to the bucket of water, I want to be able to turn on and off the tap as I please.
If abstinence or prophylactics aren't a reasonable option for you, then I don't see why those should be my only options
China supposedly came up with a birth control for men that works but involves injecting you with some metal or something and they use magnets to get it down to your balls but it only lasts a couple days and it shrinks your balls temporarily

Exactly. You don't negotiate with terrorists.

Existence wouldn't be so bad without the many, many things you did to ruin it.
After all, "white privilege" is yours. Climate cult, that's yours. Transgenderism, also yours.

If you hate your life, you're free to end it. I don't care either way. Just stop projecting your self hatred onto the whole world.
Go back to r/childfree, weirdo lol
They banned me there.

You for real? This sounds like a joke. What a price to pay for a small thing.
Tell you what, you can have abortion when you relinquish your inexplicable legal status as a minority group.
Don't have sex then you fucking degenerate murderer
