I think it's mostly driven by teachers. They are such a whiny bunch and they really want those kids in their masks. Some of these schools will try anything.
It's weird around me as I expected otherwise, but I walked by the school when the kids were outside and even the teachers weren't in masks. I know a kid that got Covid last week from that school, and they didn't have to go to the hospital and they are alive and totally fine just a couple days later! Shocking and totally sounds like Russian disinformation I know. If this were Reddit I'd be banned for sharing it.

All this shit is either an occupational hazard or it isn't. If it is, then PPE isn't optional; and fines and firings ensue for non-compliance regardless of who it is. If it's not, then it should be taken as seriously as a dress code.
