I can’t even imagine the asi one logic she must be using to explain how higher carbon dioxide levels all day long don’t cause brain fog. I bought a carbon dioxide detector to see if my thin cotton masks were better for my kids to use for back to school. At 1k per million it starts beeping. Oops my house was 1200. I opened windows and got it down to around 400. Sitting still no talking with my mask on very loosely and this big contraption pushed into the side of the mask for the reading and it hit 5,000! This was after my house was already aired out! The only one that was within acceptable limits was basically a piece of tulle (like simple lace). Imagine if I was in a room with 15-30 other kids all day what the levels would be!

Even the EPAhas a term for breathing too much carbon dioxide while indoors Sick Building Syndrome and that was levels up to 2500 parts per million. Half of my mask! https://www.epa.gov/indoor-air-quality-iaq/associations-between-indoor-carbon-dioxide-concentrations-and-sick-building

I am anti-mask (because they don't work) but the volume of a normal breath is half a liter, and maybe 20 ml of that will be rebreathing. So if the indoor air is 1000 then (1000 * 480 + 5000 * 20)/500 = 1160 which is actually higher than I thought it would be but probably isn't terribly concerning. But since they don't work it's not like you're getting anything in exchange for the slightly higher co2 levels.

That might be your first breath, but over the course of a minute the numbers continue to rise

No, it won't. 96% of the air will always be from outside the mask so it will quickly reach a steady state. And I used your number of 5000; if it would rise over time you would have seen it rise and reported a higher number.

It's hard to exaggerate just how awful these people are. For one, she engages in begging the question in the article, simply assuming instead of demonstrating that this is desirable, let alone 'necessary' as she claimed.

It will not come as a surprise to you that this woman is completely and utterly nuts. She hates white people and has delusions about 'systemic racism':

Because not teaching kids about white privilege and systemic racism has really been working out well so far... 🤦‍♀️ archive

But mostly, she hates gun owners. And even appropriates COVID terminology to push it.

Amen. Counting on our new @POTUS and congress to follow through and enact commonsense gun laws to stop the gun violence pandemic ASAP. source

She also endorses the Greta Thunberg-like "March for our Lives" anti-gun movement started by students who mercilessly bullied one of their classmates who later committed a mass shooting.

This is how the young people will win! @SDALouisville @ChangeTheRef @AMarch4OurLives source

She also attacked pro-gun protesters who did not want what they view as their rights infringed by the government, by labeling them as the 'bad guys'.

Good guys don’t need to hide behind ski masks and body armor! So proud of the @SDALouisville students. source

She is awful in a world of ways.

Evil people, and it's hard to put into words how much I want them to suffer for what they're doing.

Children in cultures where caregivers and educators wear head-coverings that obscure their mouths and noses develop skills just as children in other cultures do.

Yeah, those cultures are doing great. And their schoolmates and father don't wear face covering so it's fucking irrelevant. "Why don't you trust the experts."

Any teacher who wants children to wear masks while learning and working together should be immediately fired, because she clearly has no idea how children learn, and therefore lacks the basic knowledge necessary to be able to do her fucking job properly.

We don't have data but we have reason to believe this won't cause harm - Danovitch, paraphrased.

So... fuck The Science?

Also, she protected her tweets regarding this opinion piece because of course she would.

The AAP is removing articles on their website about the importance of facial expressions/communications for infants to conform with their new dictates that "ackshually there are no studies about masks and children, therefore they must be good!".

Evil evil people.
