Good article until you learn the author is a Democrat. Totally not paying attention. (news.yahoo.com)

Somewhat relevant, I was reading a book about the sociopathy of boomers. I hesitated a bit when the author trashed Trump in a brief 2016 election description, but I continued to listen. Then the author stated that Obama was “scandal-free” and I stopped reading the book immediately.

I have never understood how they can overlook the many faults, murders, and corruption behind the man but spin like fucking tops when the MSM makes up even a little lie about Trump like the dessert bullshit.

I was gonna say maybe it's a sane Democrat who just hasn't crossed the isle yet, but since they're part of academia I doubt that. They're one of the worst offenders when it comes to infantilizing adults.

"Unfortunately, our social institutions and technological devices seem to erode hallmarks of maturity: patience, empathy, solidarity, humility and commitment to a project greater than oneself.

All are qualities that have traditionally been considered essential for both healthy adulthood and for the proper functioning of democracy."

No mention of personal responsibility: understanding what your life is, you only get one, and taking responsibility for it. That is what it means to be an adult. You and you alone are responsible for your life. All of that other bullshit listed are just the author's personal, subjective values.

Furthermore, democracy with universal voting is a wet fart of a joke. Nothing can make it function properly. It will always fail horrifically.

Finally, women are the majority of voters and THEY LIKE THIS SOCIETY. Women are children. Well, women are slightly above-average 13 year olds. This is a society a 13 year old wants. This is working as intended. Daddy government takes care of things. Men are getting their balls cut off and not growing into big scary powerful men. But where have all the good men gone? etc etc.

It Could Happen Here

Interesting and disturbingly plausible podcast, you can overlook the author's woke status quo leanings because there are enough redeeming elements.

Then he interviews notorious psychopath BPD case molly conger aka socialistdogmom with glowing one-sided praise.

Yeah I've had that one too. It's funny how certain things (e.g. video games) tick the "childish ways" box but other things like personal responsibility, continued employment, not being financially inept, etc. don't count for shit.

I guess according the the article I'm ok though, my job is extremely independent and unmonitored, social media consists of anonymous forums, I think gambling is for the stupid, and I'd probably throw my smartphone away tomorrow if I could find a dumbed down replacement. I know that's not what they mean and it's touched on at the end when the marxist spiel starts with "hallmarks of maturity: patience, empathy, solidarity, humility." Solidarity can piss off and empathy is a misused term.
