I'm honestly glad I only have a few hours a week for games at this point. I can't imagine how miserable I'd be if I actually had time to get bored of the small handful of games that aren't watered down shit these days.
Amen and awomen, xir. The modern totalitarian left might actually be worse than the Maude Flanders archetype from the ‘80’s and ‘90’s.
I remember watching those peoples’ power wane and then being horrified as it was clear the Tipper Gore/Hillary faction was ushering in a new “wrap the kids in bubble wrap” mentality that every minivan driving soccer mom bought into hook, line and sinker.
Speaking of, did you notice that a certain Literally Who started dressing like Little House on the Prairie for a bit there? I only noticed it because somebody did a response video to her, but it definitely stood out to me...
I know there were a few that might've been considered on the right, but they were hardly the biggest names. Some of the biggest "anti violent video game" types of the 90's were Tipper Gore, Joe Lieberman and Hillary Clinton. Seems pretty far from "right wing" to me. Tipper Gore was big on censoring music too.
Nintendo's not censoring even extreme fictional violence at all, anymore. Their Wii exclusive Mad World was a symbolic pint when they went into the opposite direction.
So movies and stuff aren't going to be hyper-realistically gory any more? Are we going back to the days of the Western movies? Would that be a terrible thing? And do the people ushering things back around in a circle aware that they're acting just like the Hayes and Comics code did, but only sillier?
There’s a school of thought that the lack of actual gore in violent movies contributes to violence because kids grow up seeing that shit and don’t realize how fucking awful stabbing or shooting someone actually is. Hard to prove one way or the other, but it’s an interesting theory.
I've always thought that was true in the case of action TV shows where someone bonks a person over the head or shoulder to knock them out cold, without showing any resulting injury. Idiots grow up watching those shows not knowing how unrealistic it is, and just by chance some of them become the thugs who beat people to death. I'm sure most of them don't give a shit, but I wonder if a small percentage of the IQ midgits didn't realize they'd have to hit their victim at precisely the right spot to knock them out. It's just dumb luck when it works in boxing.
Also just to continue the weird pop culture theories, it's thought that people fall over when getting shot (non-fatally) just because they've seen that reaction in the movies. Realistically most gunshots don't knock someone over unless they're at point blank, and a person may not even know they've been shot when hit in certain parts of the body from far enough away.
Heck it was the Romans who concluded that the Gladiatorial games were a critical part of maintaining peace and civilization. Without them, unrest would grow and boil over into rebellion, every single time.
Soyny is pathetic.
I own a PS1, PS2 and PS3 but I will never buy a PS4 or PS5.
Sony got completely cucked when they moved their Playstation HQ to California in 2016. It was all over from then on.
I don’t know what got into their head. Moving to commiefornia when everyone is leaving… talk about getting woke and going broke (idea wise)
Probably got a sweet break on their taxes and didn't look any closer than that..

I'm surprised she was still allowed to have tits.
What the fuck is the point of parental controls if you are going to censor shit anyway?
They'll keep all the violence in the last of us games I guarantee it
With that in minds, it's weird how much the pearl-clutching left of current year resembles the pearl-clutching right of the 90s...
Who knows, maybe sony will just cut out the middleman and hire Jack Thompson as a consultant...

oh man, don't get me started... Dee Snider's takedown of al gore was hilarious.
I'm not trying to crap on the right in general, I'm just saying, authoritarian gonna grab power yo'.

Doki Doki Literature Club is also uncensored on Switch.
And WalkMans, DiscMans and BetaMax VCRs.
Christ, and I thought 4Kids censorship was stupid and pointless...
At least they were claiming to be making their products for children, not adults.
claiming being the operative word, lol.
Another reason to just play on PC so you have more freedoms (diff versions, cracked etc etc). Consoles are gay as fuck.
Or just not play the Plus version at all. Its complete shit for anyone who wasn't already a fan.
I'd support fans giving Dan their money, as the original was/is free and great. But for first timers (aka console players) you'd best avoid it.
ddlc isn't japanese

There is also the theory that access to violent movies and video games is the primary reason our culture doesn't look like this any more: https://foreignpolicy.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/rome-temple-jerusalem-GettyImages-587489868.jpg?resize=1395,1024

Womp. Looks like I’m not buying the deluxe version of DDLC+
