The really dumbed down mechanics (the very inclusion of wall break), lack of anime antics with moe/ecchi in favor of Zack Synder’s Guilty Gear for visuals, and all the pandering for casuals (those damage numbers, whew) make this the Super Smash Bros Brawl of Guilty Gear to me.
I’m glad I got into the series very late (Guilty Gear Xrd Rev2 player of around a year or so), because there’s no way I’m ever buying this thing. Sad thing is that too many normies and old-time players are desperate for a new game, and reviewers are calling it a 10/10 game (despite being one of the barest-bones FG I’ve seen) so it looks like this is the Western-pandering future of ArcSys.

For the sake of advertisements there is a lot of pressure on developers to reduce the amount of sexuality in their games.
Oh trust me. I saw that dumpster fire a mile away. Avoided it like the plague until Champion Edition, where I scooped everything for less than 2/5's of the regular edition's price. I'm not getting Season 5 because of Capcom's recent shenanigans.
