This is a pretty great PR victory. It cost them nothing and showed the malevolence on the other side. I don't often like what conservatives do, or rather their constant inaction, but this was pretty neat.
I feel like the conservatives have done many stunts like this in the past, with that intended effect, but look at where we are today.
Gamergate did the exact same thing; Funded http://www.thefineyoungcapitalists.com/ to prove they weren't sexist and weren't trying to force women out of gaming.
Did it help one bit? No. Not a damn, not one iota. GG still got smeared as a sexist reactionary attempt to push women out of game development. The left set the narrative, and absolutely nothing we said or did changed it one teeny tiny bit. They exerted complete and total control of the public narrative from day one, and they still have it.
/u/AntoniOfVenice and anyone who thinks they they can win a 'PR victory' still has the wool pulled over their eyes. This is NOT high school debate team. The left has set the rules and the rules are whoever can do the most bullying, harassment and and intimidation WINS.
It's pure Alinsky: That which they accused us of doing, is THEIR GAMEPLAN. That which we went out of our way to avoid doing, is what we SHOULD have been doing.
Forget the old strategy. It's slow SUICIDE.
DO WHAT THEY DO, instead of DOING AS THEY TELL YOU.
Problem is, when people try to do what the left does then the left focuses on them with the same focus of the Eye of Sauron.
We're at a rather big impasse because of this now, I think. How to get through this impasse? I don't know, but it's no coincidence more and more people are talking about detaching, about the necessity of a Great Divorce, and well, we know what station this train of thought stops at don't we?
The left always operates out of bad-faith arguments, positions, and tactics. Mainstream conservatives (for reasons that I don't understand) always assume that the left is operating in good faith, but that they are merely ignorant of the consequences of their policies, or are at worst, stupid people. AOC is indeed stupid, but she advocates for what she does because she's a bad person, not that she's merely ignorant. She's ignorant and stupid on top of being a malicious actor.
Who gives a shit? Nobody on the left does. AOC will probably say something like, "I am not going to accept money from people who attempted to murder me" and the left will cheer. The battle lines will stay exactly the same. Going for PR victories at this stage is pretty pointless because our enemy controls almost every means of disseminating information to the masses. We never get to control the narrative that is delivered to the public.
This is just a way for conservatives to pat themselves on the back and feel like they did something. I guess it is a morale booster for conservatives? I'd rather boost morale by getting actual Ws though, and by that I mean legal and political victories.

Yep. Start pushing back, and hold them to their own standards.
Cancel them.
Make it so they're unable to get jobs ever again.
Then we fix the system, and go back to normal.
PR victories mean nothing.

Remember its better to die with dignity than to live in a functional society.
You clearly don't understand what's going on here
