Rugrats was always ugly as shit (boy I wonder the early life of those writers), but at least it was interestingly ugly, a unique stink. This is just some late PS2/port to PS3 gameplay footage.
The 90's had some real weirdo cartoon animation. Ahh! Real Monsters comes to mind, Invader Zim, Ren & Stimpy, etc. You'd never see anything like that now, it's all been absorbed by CalArts slime.

Its funny how the gays always make sure to gender specific their exes, while most hetero people just call them "my ex" or something simple.
So this isn't even a dumb tv trope. Its something you'll experience in daily life where everytime its "my partner" or something similar.
Out there are actually gay people, who can only feel attraction to same sex people, but youd never notice them, which is the point of how they live. It's the equivalent to people who are gluten free as a fad diet compared to people who are gluten free because wheat tears up their intestines.
So the ones actually getting their intestines torn up never make a scene, just the public fakers. Got it.
