I have seen a lot of predictions about this case, and I am curious what people here think about the matter.
Will Derek Chauvin be convicted or acquitted on the main charge, or will there be a hung jury?
Will Derek Chauvin be convicted or acquitted on any lesser charge, or will there be a hung jury?
In the aftermath, will there be rioting and looting if (1) he is convicted on all charges (2) he is convicted on only some of the charges and (3) if he is acquitted on all charges?
I predict looting either way. I think defense can show reasonable doubt but I think jury members are too fearful. I fully believe that if they acquitted him they would be doxxed and threatened at the least.
Conviction.
Conviction.
Still rioting and looting, they'll just say it was about that stupid woman or the charge wasn't enough.
Grant, it's not a jury of his peers, but there's certainly reasonable doubt as to whether fentanyl floyd ODed, ingested speedballs, then became overwhelmed as the adrenaline of arrest and combat rushed over him.
But the defense is pretty awful. The facts are there, but this is a trial by emotion.
Conviction of manslaughter, cleared within 2 years. Possibly postmortem.
E: a chimpout is guaranteed, not because it's low or no charges, but because it's an opportunity to snag some new nikes with minimal legal resistance.
It's just like an Aliens vs. Predator promotional, if one wins, we all lose.
Rioting will happen no matter the outcome.
At this point, I'm consigned to the inevitability of the great reset. My only hope is that the inevitable revolution that follows is so severe that the commies are forced underground for a thousand years.
Here's my totally not based on any reality but a decent understanding of human nature prediction:
There's too many cooks in the broth for globohomo to propagate the way they want it too; too many Type As who want to hoard all the wealth; too much greed, essentially.
They don't want to share amongst their peers; combine with the ongoing purity spiral and there will inevitably be in-fighting at the highest echelons of "society". In-fighting at the level of wealth and control these fiends have equates to global war.
Global war, provided it doesn't lead to nuclear extinction, will weaken everyone.
A status where many of the elite will suffer their own reset as their assets become ash, provided they're not dead.
Also, take this into account: socialist economies always, always collapse, even if the period is measured in decades. China would have collapsed ages ago if they hadn't have opened up and adopted a capitalist structure to their economy; they only really retained the totalitarian aspects of socialism.
The elite that matter have nuclear bunkers, can hire personal armies of mercs and have their assets tied up in things that are most likely to survive. They wouldn't push this without taking precautions and preparing to survive it. They aren't as illiterate to history as people assume and are well aware of the flaws in their preferred type of government and how to survive those flaws. The Ozarks specifically are well known for their luxury bunker complexes built by the elite of the elite. https://www.cnn.com/style/article/doomsday-luxury-bunkers/index.html
Sometimes, I envy your naive optimism.
It's not optimism, just the recognition that they need an excuse to riot, and they won't get it if he is convicted.
No, they don't. They just need people in the streets, and this trial will accomplish that.
We'll see. I'll admit that I was naive if I turn out to be wrong, but I expect the same from you.
Fair enough. I'll be shocked if the reading of the verdict isn't the starting gun for their free shopping spree they've been psyching themselves up for for weeks, regardless of the content of the verdict. And I'll admit I misjudged.
E: A caveat, though. Just because Ali Velshi calls it a mostly peaceful celebration in the local Foot Locker, doesn't make it so.
Excellent! Only about a week remaining.
I thought that would go without saying. I'm not so committed to being right that I'm going to deny reality over it.
Guess it's game time. The odds look in your favor.
Unfortunate. Shocking miscarriage of justice.
Agreed. While I think reasonable doubt was firmly established, manslaughter wouldn't have been too out of line.
That jury, though.
Looks like I misjudged. Just a few idiots breaking windows and attacking cops, but apparently no riots.
Well, I thought I lost based on the resulting violence. I failed to specify that I meant 'no riots in Minneapolis'.
Too late bro.

That had nothing to do with the Chauvin case, not directly anyway.
There will be looting no matter what. If chavin goes down for murder, that won't be seen to mean that 'the system works' and 'justice was served'. All it will mean is a that yes, cops are officially murderers. And that will be an excuse for a riot.
The city will burn. It's inevitable.
Not guilty on all charges, mass rioting and looting.
If you're in a city, or burn loot murder comes around, best be prepared to defend yourself and your property
Well all the guns and ammo are gone so....good luck...
Only if you didn't bother prepping well before this.
I hope for acquittal but I think it is going to be a hung jury and everything is going to burn.
I leaning towards hung jury or mistrial being the most likely outcome followed by BLM doing the burn, loot, murder thing.
Not guilty on the murder but guilty on the manslaughter which will give enough cover for a chimp out 30x bigger than 2020 and it'll be ignored by the media (until it becomes politically advantageous not to) and the local politicians will close off as much of the cities as they can in an attempt to push the riots out into the burbs where people will get shot and the shooters will be used as a series of Rittenhouse and Mccloskey incidents by the media which will give the Dems ammo to get gun control and other anti rights and authoritarian type bills passed and SCOTUS packing as well.....because the "people" want it and for safety.
