The funny thing is that her other behaviors are all things she's planning to do. It sounds to me like it's not that she's been kicked out. It's that she's so intolerant that she can't live with someone who would watch a movie she finds offensive.

Unfortunately it'll haunt him the rest of his life. Imagine having raised a kid that spawned this insanity.
