I was surprised to see this. Greenwald belongs to the anti-war/pro-civil liberties part of the left, and they are generally far more concerned with 'abuse of state power' than with the victims of violent crime. Even with the particularly horrible home invasion in Oakland where a Chinese family was targeted and where they threatened to kill the 7-year-old daughter of the family if they would not turn over their money.
But it turns out that Greenwald has recently been the victim of a home invasion himself, where they threatened to kill him for an hour if he would not turn out the valuables that they assumed he was hiding.
They do say that a conservative is a liberal who has been robbed. All the people who say "abolish the police" and similar nonsense, either do not know or do not care about what they impose on people outside their gated communities.
The vast majority of postmodernists are actually marxists and pedophiles who see the destruction of the west as the quickest path to communism and fucking kids.
What percentage of the people calling for the abolition of police are simply predators and criminals?
Not 100%, but behind every gullible idiot who believes the propaganda there's a predator trying to lower their intended victims' defences.
And once the West is destroyed, they'll get their wish -- for at most 20 years. Then the authoritarians who used them as tools to enact their new regime will have finished executing the most egregious offenders, gulaged the rest, and outlawed their degeneracy.
Not that they pay attention, but Stalin did criminalize Homosexuality and Transgenderism in the Soviet Union; the Bolsheviks just decriminalized it first.
I support abolishing the police if they actually have the balls to go all the way. It would be the end of the current regime over night if there was no one to arrest the Kyle Rittenhouses.
