Although negative reactions have been relatively rare, the numbers are used by many extremist groups to try to bolster a rash of false and alarmist disinformation in articles and videos
So, how rare is relatively rare? 1/10? 1/100? 1/1000000? Oh, you don't bother saying you just leave it with a vague qualifier and then go on an unhinged, unsourced baseless rant? Way to make people trust you.
"relatively" is one of the most insidious weasel words, because conversationally we use "relatively"... relatively often. But in terms of reports, studies, surveys, focus groups, samples, etc., "relatively" has an important root word: "relate". What are they relating it to?
COVID has a relatively low mortality rate... compared to smallpox. COVID has a relatively high mortality rate... compared to stubbing your toe. COVID has a relatively non-existent mortality rate... compared to being decapitated. The moment someone says "relatively", you should say "relative to what, exactly?" (And spoiler alert, they never say what they're relating it to.)
Other weasel words/tactics in the article:
"in a channel linked to the Proud Boys": Well CNN interviewed a Proud Boy once, so CNN is "linked to" the Proud Boys. The Proud Boys leader was hispanic, so any hispanic person is "linked to" the Proud Boys. A meaningless set of words to pre-poison a well.
They called a protest a riot, because they did not define any terms.
Across right wing-channels online, certain constant memes have emerged attacking the vaccine, like a cartoon suggesting that what started with mask mandates will end with concentration camps run by FEMA for those who refuse vaccinations.
This is presented on its own. The paragraph before is talking about Trump's work, the paragraph after is reported official death counts. This paragraph is literally on its own. There is no rebuttal, no discourse, no logic. It is literally a non-sequitur paragraph.
And of course, when bringing up vaccination concerns, they leave off the most rational ones, and focus in only on the most egregiously exaggerated ones. MOST vax-skepticals are not concerned it has some A-B poison compound that will instantly kill everyone on a scheduled day. They're worried about effects on fetal development and long-term side effects that by design are unable to be studied in a hurried development, since no "long term" yet exists. But the news article is careful to never mention concerns over fetal safety, nor concerns over long-term side-effects.
In my personal circle I know of several who were openly and vocally irritated about about the election steal. Of this same group, I've heard zero about the vaccine. As far as I know they are all ready to get stuck. Or have been already. So trying to connect these are just stupid.
I'm highly likely to be the last holdout around me, and I'm not even anti-vax. They've just answered zero of my questions and offered me zero benefit. The only offering is a lower chance of hospitalization from WuFlu. I already had it, and I wasn't even in the ballpark of hospitalization. I was out doing physical exercise on the fourth day just fine. Why the hell would I want to take the risk on a shot that is known to be untested to avoid that? They can't even offer me a world where masks are never even requested, and that's even of their own decree.
Yeah, the risk-reward proposition is just not there for younger people. I've got quite a few years left before I even get close to the age groups that Covid killed at a higher rate, so why not be patient?
I'd go as far to encourage it for elderly, but in that case you take the risk down as they aren't concerned about fertility issues, things that may take a long time to manifest, etc. but the reward up as the virus has been much more brutal to them.
Most people don't seem to realize that there is zero intent to move us out of this post-vaccine, so they just assume if they get it over with it'll start getting this pandemic over.
Its low information desperation, the kind the powers that be love.
This is my immediate family's stance and it frustrates me to no end. They outright refuse to understand that the power accumulated using the virus as a pretext will not be relinquished.
I've had more complications and suffering from Rona paranoia than actual Rona. Nothing about any of this will change my mind or make me listen to what they say.
Worst thing is, I don't think we will see any mainstream admittance that the response was way overblown and did far more damage than the actual disease could have. At least not for a few decades.
They can't admit that because then people will demand compensation and consequence for that. As nearly every mainstream politician from local to federal and the media went all in on it, they makes all of them culpable.
They went in so deep they can't even send a patsy out to take the fall, so instead they must keep the fear topped off until people are too tired to respond when it inevitably does end.
Norway has had 7 deaths from COVID in the under 50 age groups. AstraZeneca reactions has killed 5 in the same age group, with I believe others still in hospital with same.
Most under 50 haven't even been offered a vaccine yet, so most of them are hospital workers. This represents a tiny proportion of the total population and should be taken very serious.

As for the article itself:

Actually dying of covid is extremely rare too. But you know, facts don't real.
99.8% chance of surviving it

Media should be renamed "hit-pieces."
"Did you watch the hit-pieces today?"
"Guess what I saw on the hit-pieces this morning?"
"Look at this hit-piece, it proves you wrong."
Blatantly propaganda hitpieces like this shows us why the media is truly the enemy of the people.

If one has a 99.x% chance of surviving Covid and the vaccine carries its own risks, how exactly am I better off after taking the vaccine???

Makes you feel hopeless, doesn’t it. It does me at least. The past year has been a black suppository.
Most humans are dumb herd animals. Doesn't make your life more enjoyable to know that, but reality is what it is.
I want to be more optimistic but so much of the population is brain dead and will only do as the media tells them.

800 deaths within 48 hours of a vaccine.
I think I'll pass.

They're overplaying their hand (which is weak in the first place) by labeling the opposition to their favored issues and stances as being "far right".
