I don't think anything will actually happen because of this, representatives actually censoring conservative networks still sounds like a pretty big step and this revolution is more like boiling the frog...

Maybe not, but pushing such an absurd idea in a serious context helps to normalize it for the future. And no doubt they will push the narrative that it isn’t censorship for some reason, perhaps claiming that they have become encouraged violence.

I do expect that companies like Google might use it as an excuse to step up their censorship, though. For the dems, why even resort to government censorship when you can get “private companies” to do it for you?

Your missing the more nefarious intention, it gets the idea of banning conservative ideas from TV, internet and radio completely into the public discourse which the media can then propagandize to get the gen pop into agreeing with, like they did with Alex Jones and the "Alt right".
