[OC] White House Will Circle Back: By Asking Reporters To Submit Questions Ahead Of The Daily Briefings || Democrats are all about control. Now they are controlling the questions, and "preparing" themselves with cookie cutter answers for difficult questions. Will circle back to you on that. (youtu.be)

I would call them stenographers but stenography is actually useful.

I have never been a fan of gotcha questions. Thoughtful answers requires time to actually think about what was asked. 99.9999% of people cannot rattle off something truly intelligent without any prep.

This all presupposes that if someone is given the questions ahead of time they will prepare truthful, informative answers.

Also no good information ever comes from soundbites unless it is a warning of immediate danger.

This comment pisses me off.

  1. There are positions that do require timely and intelligent communication under pressure, and press secretary for the president of the United States is clearly such a position.

  2. The White House press corp, to my knowledge, has never formally fed questions to the administration beforehand. This is a massive break with established standards and practices.

  3. The "gotcha question" is completely valid if it is, in fact, a true gotcha i.e. you've caught someone in a lie or a logical fallacy. The nature of the press is supposed to be oppositional when questioning those in power.

  4. It's sad to see someone working hard to rationalize or justify this egregious behavior. These people have been operating as the propaganda organ for the democrat party for decades, and this change only formalizes it. Offering a good faith explanation on behalf of people who systematically annihilated all semblance of good faith is silly. We are way past assuming malice here.

Nothing I said has anything to do with your points. It is like you didn't even bother to read my comment. Nowhere did I defend this new development. I pointed out that catching people off guard is not a legitimate way to get at the truth especially when dealing with complex issues.

Morons believe that someone who is flustered and stammering is lying because they've watched too many fucking movies and TV shows.

Anybody who's dealt with reality knows that triggering an off-balance reaction doesn't indicate dishonesty but simply that the questionee was not thinking about the asked topic.

if the press secretary for the president of the United States is flustered and yammering when asked an uncomfortable question or a question that they cannot answer at that moment they clearly aren't fit for their own job. Just sayin.

More and more by the day, I hope Americans have realised they have elected actual fascists in the hopes of removing a "supposed" one.

I hope they do. I really hope they do! Before the damage is done.
