It seems like self-censorship, given their previous titles as comparative points.
A shame. If a company is willing to compromise their ideals in imagery for short-term ease of Chinese use, they're likely willing to compromise their ideals elsewhere as well, such as worker treatment ethics, fair pay, or work environment, and I wouldn't want to support a company abusive to its employees. They already don't respect their original fans or original concept artists, after all, so how far does their lack of respect go?
On top of this... Going to level with people here, GUST games... Aren't all that good, objectively speaking. The Atelier series peaked with Iris 1, and never reached anywhere as good again. They get by on being mediocre games with cute, attractive character designs that have Teen-rated sexualization. If they're willing to compromise on what is basically their sole selling feature compared to competitor products... People will probably just play the competitor products.

Agreed. Now, I really do enjoy Nights of Azure and Atelier. But they're definitely carried by their characters and character designs. From a gameplay perspective, they can be pretty damn clunky.
the oag community is still around...bounced to poal and aether and worldtruth also on matrix, they left poal due to retardedness on poal's downvote policy but as for oag propper karen bought it under dubious circumstances and kevin was still writing articles last i know. i checked there once outta curriousity and they are donation begging and writing such generic stuff i forgot it already some old readers bounced over to niche gamer too
Owner sold the website and went radio silent. I suspect someone has dirt on him or he is threatened. the new owner of the website cucked out..well at least the new owner is not a SJW or a total cuck but we are dealing with high levels of chucking nonetheless
It looks like people are claiming the design is self-censored to comply with Sony policies but that's going to be very difficult to prove.
Sure it would be difficult to prove. But my standard here would be "more likely than not", and we have several factors going on here that make me think it's likely:
The previous game had nothing like this.
From what I understand, this does not seem to appear in older pre-release footage.
There appears to be no attempt to clarify that the game is not censored; the user was simply banned and the thread was locked.
Gust's previous statement about censorship seemed awfully cagey, basically amounting to saying that the game wouldn't be censored in localization.
To me that's enough to qualify as more likely than not.
What does the ban actually do and who bans it?
I assume they can't cut you off from your games and complaining about censorship are not in the community guidelines, as vague as they may be.
So does it mean he can't post anymore anywhere or just on this game?
I have a not so small number of games on steam and I've given before reviews like SJW trash do not buy. Am I in danger of losing all my games?

What the fuck happened to OAG? Over the past year, they've gone really quiet.

probably you aren't supposed to get the camera in such an angle in atelier Sophie. nonetheless is censored.
If it's censored then looks like I won't be buying it. What a shame
