A Brit and a Leaf talk about American Politics, and they don't have a fucking clue. It's bog-standard, uninformed, self-proclaimed intellectual cuckery. Whinging, mewling, BOHICA bullshit.

I actually thought these two had some sense.

Murray does stumble across the plan - Biden's job is to make sure there's never another electoral contest.

Murray comes across as someone who hasn't bothered to do even a tiny bit of investigation of the claims about the totally fairest election ever in the history of elections.

And neither of them seemed interested in steel manning the people they were accusing of going down the "election fraud" rabbit hole. Or Trump himself.

Kind of disappointing because I generally like both of them and think that Peterson had/has the potential to be one of the most important figures in western philosophy of our time. Instead it just seemed like this was their opportunity to publicly denounce the bad orange man and the bad orange man supporters so that they can be on the Good team again.

I think you, and the person you were responding two are both incorrect.

I think both Murray and Peterson are major targets, and if they both stood up and swore the election was stolen, yeah, they wouldn't be around much longer. There's a very big push by the moderate people on both sides to go "Shhhhh we didn't start killing each other, pretend it's all normal and good, things are bad, but it's still normal and good and we're not strangling each other in the streets."

Both of them were quite good in what I've watched so far (about 40 minutes) and are accurately locating the problem without polarization - this is good, because normies will be able to understand it, and we're going to need their good will.

I am glad that finally this two big intellectuals have started talking about the demographic changes happening in the West... The Strange Death of Europe by Douglas Murray is definitely a must read.

Styx only recently got a Yeti microphone instead of using his laptop's onboard one. They're not called them boomers for nothing.

He uses a fancy DSLR for his videos, the quality here looks to be about on that level.

Posting this here, a) because I haven't posted in a while, B) because I'm pretty sure this touches on topics many here find important and hoping to have some good discussion on it :)

JP has me a bit worried.

I've seen part of his interview with Gregg Hurwitz, the dude was along the lines: dumb poor people can't get to the level of understanding of us rich white elites and this is why people voted for Trump, also he is proud of having a trans kid godchild like it is not child abuse.

JP did not call him on any of that, I understand he is trying to give the dude a platform to reach the right but it all seemed shady. Add to that this interview with Douglas where he says that the elections are fine and everyone should distant themselves from Trump and it does ring some alarm bells. To me it looks a lot like he is taking money in order to "deprogram" conservatives.

I may be paranoiac but if you were to actually try to deprogram conservatives, how would you do it? You would get people that the right listens to like JP and Douglass Murray, to speak your talking points.

The more I watch of this, the more unsettling this interview is. I'd passed off his previous submission to leftists regarding Kavanaugh as merely the influence of the Weinstein brothers, and his voiceover of a Democrat ad a few years back on his channel as an appeal to stability, but between this interview and what you've said regarding his Hurwitz episode (I skipped that one, YT comments suggested it was a dumpster fire), it does raise questions.

And even in this one, both present subtle slights to the right, e.g. "mindless populism, the stupidity of the people who voted for Trump, elements of the American right have deeply overstated the proximity of Communism to the American political system." Something is off there. I think it's probably less that they've been paid to deprogram, but moreso that Peterson and Murray seem so focused on holding the center, the system, together, that they've convinced themselves that systemic fraud can't have occurred because the consequences of such a thing are more than either could bear.

I haven't see the Hurwitz one yet. But generally, I think what the rational and popular good thinkers who aren't blind (i.e: Peterson, Murray, etc.) Are purposefully going forward and not screaming bloody murder because it's already bad enough. We want them to stand up and punch back. The left putting 25k troops in DC wasn't because they were in danger - "we have power, FUCK YOU"

But mostly, I can see in Murray/Peterson's conversation, they were strongmanning positions from both sides, without a lot of rhetoric. I felt that was refreshing, because it also felt extremely clear to me - don't forget, people who watch those guys once, even a short clip, end up doing deep dives ;)

I'm also adding how he goes out of his way to distance BLM riots to the capitol "insurrection" and asks specifically for "unity" at around 1:35:51

I do hope I am wrong.
