The more I watch of this, the more unsettling this interview is. I'd passed off his previous submission to leftists regarding Kavanaugh as merely the influence of the Weinstein brothers, and his voiceover of a Democrat ad a few years back on his channel as an appeal to stability, but between this interview and what you've said regarding his Hurwitz episode (I skipped that one, YT comments suggested it was a dumpster fire), it does raise questions.
And even in this one, both present subtle slights to the right, e.g. "mindless populism, the stupidity of the people who voted for Trump, elements of the American right have deeply overstated the proximity of Communism to the American political system." Something is off there. I think it's probably less that they've been paid to deprogram, but moreso that Peterson and Murray seem so focused on holding the center, the system, together, that they've convinced themselves that systemic fraud can't have occurred because the consequences of such a thing are more than either could bear.
I haven't see the Hurwitz one yet. But generally, I think what the rational and popular good thinkers who aren't blind (i.e: Peterson, Murray, etc.) Are purposefully going forward and not screaming bloody murder because it's already bad enough. We want them to stand up and punch back. The left putting 25k troops in DC wasn't because they were in danger - "we have power, FUCK YOU"
But mostly, I can see in Murray/Peterson's conversation, they were strongmanning positions from both sides, without a lot of rhetoric. I felt that was refreshing, because it also felt extremely clear to me - don't forget, people who watch those guys once, even a short clip, end up doing deep dives ;)
