Adding to this: the best way to take care of your mental health is to take care of your physical health. If you've become a couch potato over the last year on account of lockdowns, make a serious effort to get outside and go hiking or running. Move around, improve your physical strength.
Definitely. I actually started getting into shape during the lockdown, because I'm a contrarian who wants to do things the moment I'm not allowed to do them, so I've been hiking, cardio, and strength training since they've said "no gyms, no exercise, no fitness allowed." It does help, but it isn't the sole source. Keep a balanced diet, too.
Yeah for sure. No one would ever consider me some prime physical specimen but the amount of time I've spent walking, riding my bike, hiking, etc is the only thing that's kept what sanity I have left. I try to not eat like shit either. Not perfect in that respect but I do pretty well. If I look back at the past year and times I was feeling down--guess what I was also not getting enough activity and eating a shitty diet. They go hand in hand.
