The liberal view holds tightly to the Tabula Rasa myth, despite its self-evident falsehood. This auspice binds liberals to the left. Being clear in language helps cut through dogma.
If there's a set standard, people can be judged by it fairly. Furthermore, people can learn what the standard is and then work to meet it.
The old norm of wearing a suit and speaking like the news anchors made it possible for anyone to prove they're willing to play the game. You show up to a job interview in a suit and speak like the news anchors do. You can even practice. The result of that is that everyone who's willing to put some effort in can join in.
The left of course has norms too, but they're not codified, and they are ever-shifting. If you're not from the right family, you basically have to go to college to learn it by immersion, and then stay on top of it closely to make sure you get all the changes. You can't just put on a suit and practice your diction. That they borrow ghetto chic from the actual downtrodden and then claim this to be uplifting, I think it's rubbing it in.
Standards lead to discrimination-- all standards do this, no matter how minimal the standard or the discrimination.
Discrimination leads to oppression. (Degree is important to placement on the progressive stack, but oppression is assumed.)
Intersectionality demands identification with the oppressed-- otherwise you're an ist-a-phobe.
Ergo, racism.
All discrimination descends into bigotry under this "logic."
Hence, the indiscriminate nature of what the progressive left considers "good."
Here is the thing. I couldn't speak English until age 15. A standardized version with concrete rules, a relatively constant vocabulary and it being the same for everyone makes it easy for us to learn.
Some broken, illogical, constantly changing ghetto shit made up on the spot is impossible to learn. Should they just say idk, do whatever, grunt like an animal even? Should they revise the books every 2 months to follow the slang some child raping pimp just invented in jail for others like him? Cartel-issued language certs?
Libturds pretend to be worldly. The fact people actually learn English for a purpose, like business completley goes over their empty heads.
Anyone can learn English. I guess the Left thinks blacks are dumber than dogs. (I'm guessing this is the tired old chestnut about "ebonics".)

And havign now watched a bit of it, it seems she's celebrating in blacks what Chomsky dissed ASL apes for - he wouldn't allow them to be "accommodated" for the fact that ASL was designed with only human hands in mind. Fucking double fucking standards. The apes communicated fine, and were more understandable than I found the show Martin to be (a 90s ebonics-filled niggerfest.)
The language that took a German(ish) base, bolted a French(ish) vocabulary on top, then added a dose of Latin(ish) via the Church, then went to sea and grabbed whatever terminology it needed from every nation it collided with (friendly or not)... is racist.
Don't forget Greek, via medicine, mostly. Seroiusly, working as a medical dictatypist (correspondence) made it that much easier to learn Greek once I got past getting the alphabet right.
All standards are inherently racist.
I can only conclude from this that not all races can meet the standard and are thus inferior to others.
Individuals meet standards, not races. It's just a matter of proportions.
This is the liberal view, yes.
The left/collectivist view is the exact opposite.

I think it's elite gatekeeping.

Exactly their logic.

Yea, I came to that conclusion a few years back. Just imagine if actual racism was called out and not used as an excuse for everything.
