Going by the /a/ threads I remember from bitd someone told him about the show and showed him a picture of Charlotte Yeager and he wasn't amused.
But tbh you can make anything up on 4chan so idk. He probably thought we either nuked them too hard or not hard enough. I mean really, you risk your life in fighters for years, become a world-renowned flyer and then in your twilight years you find out some kids' show draws you as a weird anime girl who walks around in panties like a weirdo.
I'm a fan of the show but I gotta admit if I was born in 1920s America and survived god knows what only to learn the people who fought my countrymen drew me as a girl I'd be annoyed at the very least.
