I really don't understand the type of person who gives in when subjected to harassment.
That is literally the exact opposite of what I would do.
The harassment would make me angry and motivated to fight more.
Giving in just makes you even more of a target because they know it's been proven to work. There's a reason for "we don't negotiate with terrorists" policies.
If its just you standing on principle, then you can make those assertions. When others are counting on you, then suddenly those become easier targets. Especially for people who try to stand for things beyond themselves.
That's what Tucker did, so they showed up to his house to attack and harass his family. They count on you knowing that they are so depraved and remorseless. Crying wife/child is a powerful motivator to "just make it all stop."
