I admit part of the reason that's a tough read is my own background - some of the more ... austere ... parts of my thinking were shaped when I wasn't having a great time of things ("Courses of action primarily intended to result in self-harm are prohibited" is still the earliest and strongest rule I follow).
I'm increasingly coming to the conclusion that a contributing factor to this is the determination to remove any and all paths for a man to excel on the part of the more radical feminists driving the agenda.
