Their trend is to only push harder. Supposing Biden wins, they'll take it as validation that the tactic works and that there will be no reason to hold back. If they were disciplined, yes, I agree they would throw the bone to conservatives. But the past six months have made it more than clear - they've surrendered the momentum of the democrat party to the radical activists. It will be very hard for them to resist a further purity spiral on all fronts, including their own party. No democrat leader is calling for a stop to this stuff. In my eyes, that means they endorse it. They will get their unity by attempting to force it.
I fully agree that they will move forward with every radical idea they have. They will just pretend to throw a bone to conservatives or be slightly neutral for about half a year then they will move forward with restrictions on the first amendment, second amendment, packing the courts, make it legal and encouraging white discrimination, maybe even abolish ICE, not to mention raise taxes, start implementing the green new deal and kiss globalist ass until they are all shiny. That is what I expect.
I'm just wondering what happens if Biden wins and the regulations start happening. Will these social media corps start swinging the other way in response to being regulated into oblivion?
Depends on how the regulations shake out. I think the social media corps want to be regulated, but in a way that favors them, so they get exceptions but all their competition is squashed. As is normal in so many sectors. They'll attempt to basically write the law and have their favored politicians pass them. They will only squeal if it winds up blowing up in their faces.
There is currently a civil war in the democrat party, and the politicians may attempt to blackmail the social media companies, so hard to say what actually will happen. I don't know if they will stick to the plan, or all attempt to backstab each other.
