Depends on how the regulations shake out. I think the social media corps want to be regulated, but in a way that favors them, so they get exceptions but all their competition is squashed. As is normal in so many sectors. They'll attempt to basically write the law and have their favored politicians pass them. They will only squeal if it winds up blowing up in their faces.
There is currently a civil war in the democrat party, and the politicians may attempt to blackmail the social media companies, so hard to say what actually will happen. I don't know if they will stick to the plan, or all attempt to backstab each other.
