Ironically, the left wishes he was 100% of what they claim he is...

Half of their attacks on him were them practically begging him to be an authoritarian... Ten to nothing, if he had gone full Mousolini on their asses, they would have been practically slobbering on his penny loafers, and happily (not fearfully, happily) doing so...

in theory you could find an exploit that overrode the circuit, assuming the battery circuit isn't read-only, but it would be so piecemeal that it wouldn't be worth the hassle.

they'd be better off going after us the old-fashion way at that point... "car accidents" and the like...

cell phones

that would be tricky, especially with how this operation was (officially) undertaken. the pagers/walkie-talkies/solar panels in question were intercepted before they reached hezbollah, and physical explosives were implanted in the devices. I dunno if you've ever opened up a modern cellphone before, but there isn't enough room to fit a fart in one of them, let alone a wad of explosives and a detonator.

on the other hand, lipo/lion batteries are vulnerable to catching fire/exploding if the charging circuit fails for some reason, so in theory, you could simply hack the device using an exploit in the security, causing it to become a firebomb. All well and good, but which device to you target? the iphone 10? the samsung galaxy S23? some low-level knockoff? there's too many phone variants out there, so unless you find some major bug that affects 90% of phones to exploit, spread over (in some cases) five years or more, it's going to be like playing whack-a-mole with an eyepatch. And even then, the one example I can think of of a phone heating up so much it burst into flames, the man who owned it had enough time to remove it from his pocket and drop it. Not every one will, but enough will that even if you had some sort of super exploit, a good chunk of your targets would get away unscathed.

I'm not saying they can't do this, mind you, I'm saying it would be supremely difficult, and likely you'd be better off employing other methods if you were going to pull something like this off...

hey, no worries, gamergate was barely on my radar at the time.

yeldarb1983 6 points ago +6 / -0

no doubt, but this goes back to the early days of gamergate, when association with the movement was basically professional suicide.

honestly, I just wondered, considering it's association with gamergate, lol.

there was a pro-gamergate feminist group, the fine young capitalists, that had a crowdfunding campaign for a game they were trying to develop, and the biggest contributors got to- you know what, it's easier to just let encyclopedia dramatica explain it edit: the link in question is absolutely not safe for work, snark aside, they go into the details pretty well, and I'm pretty sure I already screwed up some of the details.

the tl'dr is a charity got some money from 4channers after they found out the charity in question got double-pegged by Quinn and got to make a character for the charity in question's game. that character was the snarky ginger we all know and love.

sauce or it didn't happen.

don't get me wrong, it's completely believable, but I want a lil more proof than an affadavit with names redacted. too many false positives floating around.

only certain people from certain areas are civilized enough to be accepted

Fact Check False: Americans have never been civilized. πŸ˜ŽπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ We just fake it until we're given a reason to be ourselves.

That's why he does it. If he says something accurate and true, they just wont cover it, but if he says something a little bit sensational/exagerated, they'll fall all over themselves nitpicking the hell out of it to prove how he's tots a liar yo, thereby amplifying his message and making them show their hand to the public.

fuck, why'd you have to remind me of that trainwreck?

...Love how it got shit for "not" being pro-feminist enough, though...if these people actually played games, they would have realized it was practically going down on their shitty ideology...

and the controlllls dear god, the controls...

trailer opens, looking like an Age of Empires knockoff

okay, nothing new or exciting here, though the graphics look nice...

pickup truck in a post-apocalyptic cityscape suddenly sparkles and pulls a Delorean into an army of medieval soldiers in middle ages armor.

<cackles manically> Okay, this is amazing...

it just gets better from there...

early access

hey, 7 Days to Die has been in alpha for 7/8 years now, and that's completely playable as far as I'm concerned, so no worries if the game in question is early access. if it's fun and you can play it, who cares if it's finished or not?

with a nod to GOG for keeping old games playable (and most stuff runs just fine under linux as well, at the very least, I haven't run into any problems personally... heck, I even got a star trek: armada mod to run without any issues.
