I have not heard of any sort of ritualistic rape of male populations in the Balkans by the Ottomans, let alone any sort of conscription rape. It would be a highly poor decision for an army to rape men, when women are available and far more valuable as a commodity. Not to mention, the morale of conscripts is already typically low, raping the conscripts into submission would just be stupid because it would give you an absolutely worthless army (and probably one immobilized by venereal diseases). Remember that this is south-eastern Europe. Greek pederasty was exported all over, even to Afghanistan, over a thousand years earlier. I highly doubt that pedastry or homosexuality would have been wildly taboo. If anything, if the Ottoman sultan was big on pedastry, it would have been institutionally normalized in some way within his territory.

You might be surprised at the existence of the koceks, Turkey's equivalent to the bacha bazi of Afghanistan. They were exclusively non-Muslim boys dressed & made up specifically to seem as effeminate as possible, and were expected to dance and pleasure their masters. Tellaks (boy-attendants in Turkish baths) played a similar informal role, to the point that 'hamam oğlanı' (bath-boy) is still a synonym for homosexual in Turkish today.

While the kocek 'tradition' wasn't fully formalized until the 1600s, it grew out of centuries of informal practice in Ottoman palatial culture, of which we know Mehmed the Conqueror at minimum was an enthusiastic practitioner 200 years before the koceks were institutionalized. And as the book Islamic Homosexualities (which is cited in the above article) suggests, it was most definitely a tradition endorsed and supported by the sultans for 200 years after.

As you might guess, koceks also had a role in demoralizing the subject populations of the OE - without fighting, of course, because they were kept around for fun and not for war. Besides obviously serving as sexual outlets for whichever sultans and nobles liked to diddle boys (of which there were apparently enough to keep koceks popular for centuries), their existence also basically told said subjects 'if we can do this to your kids and you still can't shake our yoke off, what hope do you really have of escaping us?'

It would be, yes. Vlad was utterly, ruthlessly, practical and tactical. He was undeniably competent. The only personal issue he might have taken was with the fact that he was basically passed over by the Ottomans in the first place because he was Walachian. He proved his intelligence, competence, and cunning to them.

Ruthless and practical Vlad might've been, but the Impaler also knew how to nurse a grudge. For example, his extremely brutal treatment of the boyars wasn't just motivated by his desire to centralize Wallachia, but also by his knowledge of their assassination of his father and other brother. If he'd been so absolutely pragmatic as to know when to stop & not go overboard in terrorizing them, they probably wouldn't have come to hate him more than they feared him, causing them to race to the side of Radu & arrange for his overthrow in 1462.

With that in mind, I don't believe it's likely he'd have had no vengeful feelings over the Turks turning his younger brother into their boytoy and then their pet pretender against his crown. (There are also stories that Mehmed raped Vlad himself while he was still a Turkish hostage, but these aren't nearly as well-supported as the ones about Mehmed and Radu, and thus are unlikely to be true)

Mehmed the Conqueror, the Ottoman sultan who ended the Byzantines and who Vlad battled, was a notorious pederast: among his victims were Jacob Notaras and John Sphrantzes, both reputed to be good-looking sons of the Byzantine nobility, and Vlad's own brother Radu, who was literally nicknamed 'the Handsome'. No doubt there were also plenty more unfortunate boys who he added to his harem with each new conquest, but who weren't notable enough to have their names recorded in the history books.

Is it really any surprise that the peoples of the Balkans would be so fanatically opposed to the empire that (among all the other awful things empires tended to do) harvests their sons, rapes them and then uses them as mindless jackboots with which to do the same to even more lands? Or that Vlad himself was so unrelentingly brutal to the Turks and any who supported them, not just because it may have made sense from a pragmatic perspective, but also for personal reasons?

Worse still, Mahathir Mohamed is what passes for a reformist in Malaysia. The other side, who ruled Malaysia for most of its independent history until they got toppled by a corruption scandal and just retook power this March, are even more brazenly Islamist (and Malay supremacist).

So not only is his opinion horrible, there's a good chance it's not shared by the majority of Malays - because they'd prefer even worse being done to the French and any others who blaspheme against Islam with each free breath they take.

Yeah, it sounds like this woman - and indeed most people thinking of becoming a Satanist - should actually be looking at the Temple of Set instead. You know, the real Satanists who really believe in Satan, and were founded & led by Michael Aquino: a high-ranking military intelligence officer & 'psychological warfare specialist' who partook in 'Nam's Phoenix Program (IOW, he was an industrial-scale torturer & butcher) in addition to being a child rapist.

A surprising number of those Cali expats in Texas are actually conservatives fleeing their home state's liberals going completely insane though, they crucially helped push Cruz over the top against O'Rourke back in 2018.

My guess is that Texas will stay safely in the Republican column this November. It'll probably go blue sometime in the future unless something drastically changes its current demographic trajectory, as you suggest, but not now.

I'll second that recommendation, the Sword of Truth books started out solidly but quality does drop as the series goes on. Personally, I recall having to stop at the eighth book or so because they'd become Objectivist screeds full of uninteresting and ridiculous strawmen - rarely, if ever, enjoyable even when you do share the author's beliefs.

Team Biden “encouraged Western states, particularly California but also Oregon and Washington, and collectively known as ‘Cascadia,’ to secede from the Union” unless structural reforms were made.

Ah, how nice. I can scarcely wait for the counter-secession of eastern Oregon, eastern Washington, and California's Central Valley as the West Virginias of Civil War 2.0.

Hmm. The rioting in Portland, while still ongoing, seems to have decreased in intensity since their pet assassin Reinoehl was righteously mowed down by the Marshals and local/state police were cross-deputized by said Marshals, making it possible for them to circumvent Portland's new Antifa-sockpuppet DA by bringing federal charges against Antifa.

Surely some of Portland's commie trash have decided to pollute the East Coast instead, where they hope to find easier pickings with less chance of being thrown into a federal prison. Rochester, NYC, etc. But that leaves others back in the PNW, and they can't all go out and riot openly with impunity anymore.

I could believe some of those who stayed behind going out to start fires in the countryside, both to spite the conservatives living there (of which there are still quite a few in Oregon, Washington and California, their voices are just drowned out by the urban centers) and because they've repeatedly demonstrated that they're violent maniacs with no impulse control or sense of responsibility: starting wildfires lets them indulge in destruction with less chance of getting spotted and pummeled or Rittenhouse'd by the local rightists and deputized law enforcement, after all.

You won't find any disagreement from me over that assessment. Just like John Doe, for all his bluster and supposed ideals, Michael Reinoehl was in the end nothing more than a deranged murderer with delusions of grandeur whose death didn't matter a jot beyond avenging that of his victim - if Portland Police Bureau's effortless beatdowns of Antifa these past two nights are any sign, he didn't even manage to spark a small-scale revolution with his 'martyrdom'.

Stills from security camera footage of the events leading up to the killing are also included. Tl;dr it's 100% a premeditated and unprovoked ambush by a pack of cowardly dogs without a scrap of honor or courage - it would seem Danielson didn't even get to spray Reinoehl or anyone else with his bear spray, the cloud of spray seen in the video of the murder was from Reinoehl's bullet striking Danielson's spray can (see #2 on page 4).

Danielson was also not carrying a knife, but a baton in addition to his bear spray, which means (as if we didn't know it already) that Reinoehl lied about himself or his 'friend of color' being in imminent danger of a stabbing in his Vice interview. For his part, Reinoehl was also stupid enough to hide in a well-lit parking garage with cameras while preparing to draw his gun before going in for the kill. Little surprise he was also stupid enough to give an interview while still a fugitive and then pick a fight with Marshals and Washington county police later on.

I'd recommend showing this affidavit to any idiot on other social media platforms who still insists Reinoehl totally acted in self-defense, but there's a non-zero chance they'd just reject it and claim the cops lied about it because they're all Nazis anyway or some such shit. Regardless, this is even more reason to rejoice over Reinoehl now resting in Satan's piss.

willy-willis 3 points ago +3 / -0

So he did. I'm wondering if doing this interview was what got him killed, not necessarily because it let the feds find out where he was (even /pol/ was in the middle of exercising their autism to locate him based on the tree stumps and shadows in the background when he died, IIRC) but because he confirmed that yes, he was in fact Aaron Danielson's murderer on camera.

After all, if LE already knew where he was and had a warrant for him, then all the Marshals and police would need was proof that he was the right guy. When he kindly provided it, it was time to hop into their vans and go pay him a visit. And his death happened very quickly, within hours of this trailer dropping and right around the same time that the full interview was airing (11 PM EST)...

The Olympian article's updated again to say that LE tried to take Reinohl alive at first but then he opened fire. Makes sense TBH, his online history (and of course his actions in meatspace) show that he's obviously an ideological zealot and not all there in the head.

“The suspect came out to the car,” Troyer said. “They attempted to put him into custody and shots were fired.”

Though if he was fantasizing about going out in a blaze of glory or worse still, somehow wining like he's the star of a Communist propaganda movie, his 40:0 shots:kills ratio shows that he's only capable of winning when ambushing random unarmed people and no good in an actual fight...

You are correct, thanks. In my defense, I was just about to hit the sheets when I wrote that, and certainly sleepier than Nancy Pelosi when she called George Floyd 'George Kirby'.

13
willy-willis 13 points ago +13 / -0

No problem. The Olympian article updates very frequently though, now it's saying that Reinohl had an assault rifle and that many of those 30-40 shots (maybe as many as 50) were fired by him. A refresh every 15-30 minutes might be necessary to catch all the updates.

The man got out of his vehicle and began to fire what they believe was an assault rifle at the SUVs. They said they heard 40 or 50 shots, then officers returned fire, hitting the man.

On this tankie-ridden Paradox mod Discord I'm lurking in, they're all calling Reinohl a martyr and hoping that his death will be a rallying flashpoint for a revolution to finally overthrow the American gov't, so maybe that's what will happen. I kinda doubt it though, these people were using his assassination of Danielson as a huge coping mechanism after Rittenhouse routed their other death squad in Kenosha and they'll probably go right back to being doomers about their revolution's prospects when more facts (and reality) sink in later in the morning.

Local news reporting on the incident. Their report on what exactly went down:

Thurston County Sheriff’s Lt. Ray Brady said the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department fugitive apprehension team was in the area looking for a wanted homicide suspect when they saw the suspect come out of an apartment and they said he appeared to be armed.

The man made it inside a vehicle at the apartment complex when shots were fired.

Brady confirmed that four officers fired their weapons. The officers were from the Department of Corrections, Pierce County Sheriff’s Office and Lakewood Police.

The suspect fled from the car on foot. Officers said he produced a firearm and the officers fired, according to Brady. The man was declared dead at the scene.

A neighbor who declined to give his name said he was walking his dog about 7 p.m. when he saw two SUVs pull up parallel to one another — one on 3rd Way and one in an alley and then heard shots, saw gun smoke from the right side and then several shots almost instantly from the left side. He said he took cover behind a parked car.

He estimates he heard 30-40 shots. As the shots were firing, he said another black car converged, and then another.

He saw someone performing CPR on someone, then the coroner arrived.

Almost needless to say, it's great that Reinohl's become a good commie at last, though it does sadly mean that he can't be coerced into giving up the rest of the Antifa death squad he worked with.

This is so beyond ridiculous that it's lost any comedic potential it might've had. Carrying out a planned hit against an unsuspecting political opponent in the street, then not only remaining at large but running off to the press (or what passes for it) to get your dick sucked by them? That isn't even a regular Third World lawless horrorshow. Places like Egypt or Indonesia or Tajikistan have a lot of bad things going on in them, day in and day out, but pretty much never anything this ludicrous and brazen.

No, that is the sort of thing you'd find only in the worst of the worst Third World shitholes, ''''countries'''' which are really the fiefdoms of psychotic genocidal dictators or trapped in war-torn anarchy that look like they were transported through time from the mid-7th century. Hell on earth really, like Somalia or 1990s Liberia/Sierra Leone bad. (And ironically, Vice did a documentary on the latter nightmare's aftermath, back when they were still halfway decent)

Specifically this bit right here:

Richie would later tell me that he saw what prompted the first shooting. A verbal fight escalated as the victim tried grabbing the alleged shooter’s rifle – twice. The second time, Richie told me, the victim came very close to getting his hand on the man’s gun, trying to grab it away from him. He may have actually made contact, but it’s unclear amid the mayhem. That’s when the shooter fired.

If Joseph Rosenbaum, the bald 'shoot me nigga' pedo in the red shirt, hadn't escalated a verbal argument by lunging for Rittenhouse's gun and then chasing him when he tried to leave, he and Anthony Huber would still be alive today, to the misfortune of any children and girlfriends around them respectively. Everything that followed - Rosenbaum's own death, then the mob pursuing Rittenhouse until he killed Huber and wounded Gaige Grosskreutz - can now be laid at the feet of his decision to try grabbing for Rittenhouse's gun.

Edit: I've been enlightened to the existence of the charging papers, which include a fuller account from the witness in this article (Richie McGinniss) - starts at page 3. Still fully exonerating, turns out that before the chase Rosenbaum confronted Rittenhouse for no readily apparent reason while the latter was just walking on a sidewalk and wouldn't back off, even after Rittenhouse tried to sidestep out of the way.

I'm curious to see whether this will cause BLM/Antifa to finally realize their actions have consequences & back down tonight, or to escalate to full-on firefights in the streets of Kenosha instead.

willy-willis 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thanks for the update, I went to bed right around when that bald guy was yelling 'shoot me nigga' despite being white himself and now I'm seeing a thousand conflicting narratives about his shooting (and the others). That the shooter's a patriot, the shooter's a false flag plant, the shooter was just some guy in the wrong place at the wrong time, etc.

I had the feeling that he'd been drifting rightward for a while, especially after the riots got going, but wanted to maintain a centrist act to retain (and subtly redpill) his audience. Now's just a good time to make his fence-hopping official.

willy-willis 14 points ago +14 / -0

This is true. Despite having Lewis at the top of my own ballot, her being Jamaican wasn't a factor in my decision because I knew the Liberals and NDP would aggressively attack her for her social conservatism anyway. Even if they can't call her a racist outright on grounds of her skin color (very unlikely), they'll still call her retrograde, a neanderthal, etc.

But I think it does make it easier for the right, as much as one can say it exists in this country, to counterattack and make the left look like fools - and, just as if not more importantly, for the normie voters to see that.

Of course, your mileage might vary, in Lewis' case it certainly helps that she's quite charismatic and (to use a Bidenism) articulate as long as she isn't speaking in French; my outlook would've been less optimistic were she as sleepy and quiet a candidate as Ben Carson.

willy-willis 3 points ago +3 / -0

Well yeah, women have always wielded varying degrees of influence in the background since Nefertari and Jezebel. I'm not disputing that, but what I did say was that the first time women as a bloc (instead of individual queens and princesses) tried to make a major powergrab, in the supposedly egalitarian and arch-progressive environment of the French Revolution no less, they got shut down fast.

That they were forced aside from the mainstream of politics still had no bearing on the Jacobin men carrying out radical programmes. Clearly, women can help, but they aren't necessarily a decisive factor in the leftward drift of western men over the past two centuries.

For what it's worth, I actually agree that strengthening the family unit at the expense of the state is highly preferable compared to the opposite, and that a fair tally will show that women's suffrage opened the gates for the destructive social transformation of the West that got rolling in earnest just a few decades later.

But, that is one genie that's clearly not going back into the bottle, not without a huge and probably violent reactionary wave that I don't foresee on the horizon anytime soon. And I consider it an outgrowth of the Enlightenment-born revival of popular democracy in general as a good idea - 'one man, one vote' took less than a century to turn into 'one person, one vote' after all - since the fall of ancient Athens, which definitely isn't going anywhere anytime soon without a hell of a lot of violence.

So, I'll support conservative female forces like Lewis (and, in the past, figures like Phyllis Schlafly and Mary Whitehouse) as a matter of pragmatism these days. Advocating a full repeal of the female franchise is a non-starter and wouldn't solve the huge problem of leftism-addled males running around anyway.
