OK Here is my review...

Atomic Heart is a first-person shooter that takes place in an alternate reality Soviet Union, where technology has advanced in bizarre and terrifying ways. The game draws inspiration from classic titles like Half Life, Bioshock and Fallout, but adds its own unique twist to the genre.

The game’s graphics are stunning, with detailed environments that range from idyllic countryside to nightmarish laboratories. The game also features a dynamic weather system and day-night cycle that affect the gameplay and atmosphere. The narrative is intriguing, with a mysterious plot that unfolds through audio logs, documents and interactions with NPCs. The game also has a dark sense of humor that contrasts with the horror elements.

The game’s combat is challenging and satisfying, with a variety of enemies that require different strategies to defeat. The player can use guns, melee weapons and gadgets to fight their way through hordes of mechanical, biomechanical and biological foes. Some enemies are airborne, which adds another layer of difficulty. The game also has a crafting system that allows the player to create new weapons and items from scavenged materials.

Atomic Heart is not a political statement or propaganda piece, but rather an artistic exploration of an alternative timeline where history took a different turn. The game does not endorse or condemn any ideology or regime, but rather presents a surreal vision of what could have been.

Atomic Heart is one of the most original and creative games of 2023, and deserves praise for its ambition and execution. It may have some flaws and bugs, but they do not detract from the overall experience. I would give it an 87% rating for its gameplay, graphics and story.

The headline for this article made me think of the old joke ..... Small boy in bath with his mum. Points and asks "What's that?"...mum says "that's where daddy hit me with an axe"...boy says "wow...right in the cunt"

So I played 2 hours - It's got the narrative push of Half Life coupled with a Bioshock meets Fallout Aesthetic. The scanner was nifty. Haven't unlocked many weapons yet. Plays Ok and just nie to see something not fawning over woke virtue signalling. So for that it gets an 8/10

meritocratia ante diversitatem. As soon as you stop hiring based on competency you become incompetent.

I think they're killing off FTA deliberately as they have streaming alternatives. One of their shows recently recorded a ZERO in the ratings. They've destroyed Survivor. It was an absolute travesty that SBS didn't do the Taskmaster AU version as 10 have ruined it with their casting choices. There's literally only one good show still worth watching on 10 and that is Have you Been Paying Attention. The rest of the channel is a write off. My wife watched one show - The Living Room - they cancelled that. CBS have no idea how to compete in Australia - that or it's deliberate.

Yep, you're right - I misremembered it was other way around. I read a paper a few years ago and obviously didn't read oit well enough. Actually, I just went and looked that up and it doesn't even mention China, so I've obviously mixed two things. Here is the paper though - basically says everything we've been talking about :

And trivia - Qatar had the most females to male ration - 52,4 to 47.6.
