I wouldn't characterize what he did as "downplaying". What the media and his political opponents did when he instituted the travel ban, that was downplaying.

Your impeachments seem to have no real teeth, though. I guess Nixon could have said "fuck you all" and kept his job ... because of him, I'd always assumed impeachment was like a vote of non-confidence.

It's sad. We have so much evidence now that the early projections were overblown. Deaths are falling, but people are just as panicked as ever. Kids are afraid to go to school etc.
