How can any White American join the Forces after reading stuff like this? He or she will be always treated with suspicion and almost likely to be discriminated against in promotions. And all of this while risking his or her life!!! Madness...
Instead of joining the federal military, round up some friends and start your own militia.
Neither the federal government nor the state has the right to prevent the formation of militias.
Complaining about being oppressed while being given a global platform that nobody is allowed to speak against -- oh, how rough he has it!
Not only that, but then using that platform to advocate for draconian rules that only specific skin colors can benefit from, while suggesting that all claims of racism should immediately be validated as true and have the perpetrators punished makes the hypocrisy so much sweeter.
He even goes on to specify the problem with discrimination, while simultaneously advocating for it! Amazing.
If some racist event is, "traumatic in nature," then he's far too soft to be serving in the military. By the way, it's also demonstrating how comfortable his presumably upper-middle class life has been up until now if that is something that is "traumatizing."
As a side-note, where exactly, was the "racism" in the police encounter with George Floyd? It seemed like a pretty diverse group of officers who participated in the encounter, and at no point did I see anything I would consider remotely racist.
Oh, wait, he just wants to perpetuate the narrative.
This should worry more people than it does.
The military is actually extremely racist and sexist.
.
If you are white and / or have a penis (unless you identify as a woman) you can expect to have a hard time advancing beyond the automatic promotion ranks.
EDIT: Unless you are in an extremely difficult technical field where they are weeded out earlier...like nuclear propulsion. But even then, if they get that far, they are still more likely to get promotions. Because for "reason's" military promotions aren't blind.
I love how the military has so many discriminatory policies that would violate labor laws in the civilian world.
Like paying people different amounts based solely on whether they are married and / or have kids.
Where the heck would you even get this from? I've never heard anyone make such a ridiculous claim. There aren't even enough women for that kind of discrimination to work.
30 years in and around the US Navy and enough exposure to other branches.
Next question?
If your argument is true, I should be able to see the majority of the senior enlisted and officer corps of the USN as female. After all, it's going to be extremely difficult for men to get into staff positions. The SNCOIC's of the Navy should be majority female.
We both know that isn't reality. Again, there's probably not even enough women in the Navy to make that happen if anyone wanted it to. Your 30 years would have started when the US Navy would have been doing the exact opposite of what you describe.
I can't really decide if you're that clueless or intentionally twisting what I said.
But here, I'll explain it using small words.
If a white male and a female or minority are up for the same promotion, the white male won't get it.
You're trying to twist it into some bizarre absolute of "only women and minorities are ever promoted".
Your very statement suggests that most whites and most men (and by virtue, white men especially) should be basically piled up in the lower ranks. We should be seeing a significant number of qualified white men sitting in ranks like E-4 and E-5 for most of their re-enlistment. Considering how many of them there are, especially men, and considering that the military demobilized from Iraq & Afghanistan, there should be a fucking enormous backlog of whites and men sitting around for 3-4 years, even after re-enlistment, who are overqualified for ranks like E-6 while women & minorities get fast-tracked from E-4 to E-6 in only a couple years.
That should be the case if your statement is true, and I haven't seen or heard that at all.
Were you in the military?
I already know you weren't. So keep writing your essays and pretending you know what you're talking about.
I was. You, on the other hand, I'm not so sure about. 30 years "in and around" the Navy... posting on a niche politics/free-speech/gaming forum.
It looks like he's ignorantly mischaracterizing discrimination as some traumatic event when it's not.
I've been discriminated against but it wasn't close to being some sort of traumatic event. I've been physically abused and neglected as a child to my early teens - that was traumatic. Being lunged in to war - that is traumatic. A near death experience in a motor accident or something similar in nature - that is traumatic. A parent's loss of child - that is traumatic, etc.
[men with a time machine meme] Pay your own people to pick cotton.
Seriously, we would have avoided so much shit
You act like the White Supremacist slavers didn't know that. They're the ones who promoted the idea that certain work was 'below' certain people. If they had hired white farmers, it would have cost them less money than to import """"free"""" labor from Africa. Instead, they saw themselves as a "civilizing" force, demanded the government pay it, depressed working white wages, stagnated and monopolized the southern economy, and then looked on the rest of the white population as inferior to them.
You're right. If we had taught the plantation class not to be a bunch of racist, elitist, authoritarian, fuck-weasels, then this wouldn't have happened... but you can't fix that kind of stupid easily.
We're talking about a group of people who saw the development of the Cotton Gin and the beginning of mechanized farming, and decided to try and have slaves run the machines.
I doubt the white slavers knew that 150 years after slavery was abolished the descendants of and those who identified with (but themselves weren't necessarily) the descendants of slaves would be an existentially destabilizing force in the country.
Don't be silly. They knew that it would be a destabilizing force at the time. It's one of the primary reason they opposed the freeing of slaves. They couldn't hold onto power if slaves were freed.
Then they hold everyone hostage to promote foreign enemies like Vindman.
Sit the fuck down Chair Force.
From personal experience you generally see this kind of nonsense in the non combat arms related MOS’. I was an 0351 in the Marine Corps and it was pretty much MAGA country in my unit and every consecutive grunt unit I was assigned to. The first time I ever heard Leftist talking points was when we did a MEU with the Navy.
So even if leftists are infiltrating the military, they tend to do so in the branches and fields where they only ever do support or admin roles. The guys who actually stack bodies are still for the most part patriots.
I was a POG in the Marines and I was probably as left wing as it got: "center-left libertarian". All my Hispanic Staff Sergeants hated illegal Mexicans. Especially the legal Mexicans, because they felt like a bunch of worthless losers were getting a free pass to come into America (they were right).
That criminal's name is a stain upon an otherwise reasonable statement.
George Floyd was a scumbag piece of shit.
This reads like "you need to make it possible to prove our case for 'racism'".
How about no. Only an idiot would engage in a conversation where even a slight slip of phrasing or just rubbing someone the wrong way could result in punishment.
