But of course. This is always what happens when Twitter, YouTube et al. want to censor popular content: they remove it to prevent it from gaining traction, then restore it so they can act like it’s all a big misunderstanding.

How is it that people of color is accepted but colored people is not?
Because People of Color gives the insinuation that they are unified and it notably only excludes one race to my knowledge which is whites.
While colored people gives the insinuation that they are colored but not necessarily unified and it includes all but whites.
Basically it's power semantics one makes one side sound more normal/correct than the other, But they're every bit as guilty of the "microaggression" they accuse the other side of doing as usual.
One guaranteed way to trigger an NPC:
They say "blah blah people of color blah"
You repeat it back to them "blah blah colored people blah"
Then act innocent insisting you said the same thing. They go nuts.
