I never got to meet my Irish grandmother because she died at 35. Her family was so poor that when she got a debilitating (but not fatal) chronic condition in her early 30s the only way to treat it was to sign up for an experimental treatment. It apparently helped slightly, but she started to get sicker and sicker until she died, which was blamed on a wholly unrelated disease. My mom's family never did find out if it was the drug that did it.
So, yes, let them tell me to my face how that branch of my tree is oppressing them.
