Warner Bros 1985-2005(ish) was peak western animation.
That timeframe was peak animation in general. From films, to cartoons, to anime.... It's downright tragic how the art form has decayed over the past decades.
Perfectly lines up with the decline and eventual discontinuation of physical cel-shaded animation in favor of digital inking and CGI. There have been no cartoons in the past 20 years which use hand-drawn cars as opposed to 3D models, for instance.
I know for myself Batman:The Animated Series is near perfect in terms of animation, storytelling, and it's portrayal of Batman.
My brother and I have been watching through it together as a movie night sort of deal. It's been a blast (Though we did just get through a stretch of episodes that made us wonder how many furries were on staff.)
