Nobody is farming 40 acres with a mule anymore. If you aren't farming thousands of acres you get buried by your neighbors being more efficient than you.

Since at least Earl Butz's time (the "get big ot get out" guy) it's not been about efficiency, it's been about the government using the tax dollars they steal and USDA regulations (lobbied for by big ag corporations) to incentivize (dictate) what is grown, where, and for how much. Sounds like commie shit to me.
